need advise on IRAS matters

i accidentally paid twice for my property tax thru AXN.will they come to know bout it or will they not.?should i call them up or will they refund me.?pls advise...ive got both receipt.or do i call AXS..??

Write in to IRAS and say that you've paid twice, ask for a refund of the credit amount.

It's impossible to get refund from IRAS or from the government. If it's a few hundreds, just leave it there for next year's payment.

so tat means the amount will be recorded and they will just minus it off next year.?...if so...issit a comfirm thingy..??

if its below $10 den it will be auto used to offset next payment, so if your amount is over $10 den they will refund you via cheque/giro account. but this will take sometime which is around less then a month, but if you want faster, call in to IRAS hotline and ask for your refund which will take less den one week or so... =) but hor, if one month later they never refund you, they will be obligated to pay you an intrest amount... =) check the website lo, i think they got more info on it. =)

That's what happened to me, but mine was income tax.

 

However it may not be enough should the annual valuation be revised upward which is not unexpected, considering the present euphoria demand for properties

used to work part time @ IRAS.....u can call, email,send letter or go down personally...they will entertain u..

Even if the GIRO took out more $$ by accident, they will still leave it there for next year's payment..

That's not true.

I've got refunds for my income tax credit balance from the IRAS.
