Wi-Fi using iPAQ6365

Am a newbie here regarding the use of Wi-Fi installed in my iPAQ6365.

I know that McDonalds offers free Wi-Fi services but the problem is how to activate my Wi-Fi and configuration to surf the net FOC?

Any bro here can help?

1. At the bottom right hand corner there will be a small connectivity icon in black. Tap on it.

2. It will bring you to the three wireless connectivity options. Turn on the Wi-Fi option.

3. Tap on the Wireless settings. The iPAQ will attempt to detect all possible wireless connections.

4. McDonald one is SkyNet or sumting like dat. Just Tap & Hold on the SkyNet icon to bring out the menu and tap Connect.

5. It should be able to connect to the wireless network. Open up the Internet Explorer and select any webpage.

6. A McDonald login page will appear. First time user jsut key in an email address and password to register.

7. Happy surfing...

Mac skynet is free rite?

e steps u mention are for 6365 onli, or other brands oso can?

 

i tried online using GPRS, it's ex..!

received my starhub bill few days back, 77mb 450kb = SGD$77+

McD is free as of last I used. But need to register.

Come down to WC Mac on weekend night and you will see tables filled with laptops. Me, I say ditch the laptops and go ultra-mobile with an PPC.

 

I've only tested it on my 6365. A fren has tried on it his 6515.

I haven't seen others trying it out on their PPCs / PDAs. But its should work for all, especially PPCs.

GPRS is expensive. Cheaper alternative is to try out M1 or Starhub's data plans.

But unless you really need Internet on the go (as in take bus / public transport everyday and need to email reports out), might as well just hang ard McD.

West Coast Mac.

 

When you load the IE for the first time after configuring your Wi-Fi, the registration page will appear. Just key in an email address and a password when using the first time.

 

XDA which model? If using PPC WM2003 or 2003SE should be the same. Dun ask me if its WM5.0

running on WM 5.0

got some difficulties connecting to e home wireless netwrok.

What AP / Wi-Fi router you're using at home?

I realized I have problems connecting to my gf's Linksys router at her house. Even with correct authentication mode (WEP 64-bit hex) and the correct WEP key, it still refuses my 6365 connection somehow.

Otherwise, I have not much problems on most networks. You may want to download some apps to trace and locate Wi-Fi networks and assist in connecting to them.

Check out WiFiFoFum and WiFiKnife on the Net.

Using them to check and test the Wi-Fi strength at the place we are deploying Wi-Fi.
