  4. Haha, what to expect from our neighbourhood friendly "orr Tiam" aka "Blackshop" Only pity those newbies who have to go there becos they can only afford paying instalment for even regular servicing.
  5. When some one get killed by your friend ... tell him his god forgive him becos he repented.. but never will the wife, husband, son, daughter, mother, father of whoever's blood is smeared on his hands.. Be a man, face the music, just be glad no one got hurt or injured. People here can't wait for those uninsured or unlicensed thrill-seekers to kill themselves on the road before they hurt other.... That includes me..
  6. Sepang best lap 1.40 using a crappy 6600GT AGP card
  7. The last thing you can narrow down is the magnetic coil. Or you can check your bike for any short circuit first. Check your electric sockets are all intact with good contacts and not melted or corroded.
  8. In my opinion, there is no need to change 3rd party parts, just go for a routine service to change out the oil and seals. Also make sure the mechanic check that the compression and rebound pistons shims are dismantled, cleaned and examined. If the original spring is not suitable for you, can also take this chance to change out the spring. If spring okie, just leave it as it is. Once the shock is reassembled, test it out on the spot by bouncing your bike with both maximum damping and minimum damping to see if damping circuits are working fine.
  9. Not to forget the underhand method of redrawing electorate boundary to widen those walk-through districts, until don't even get the chance to be Guy "B" I am not suggesting a total change of government. What I wish to see now is a stronger opposition voice. Someone to offer an alternative view. Without a strong opposition to keep the ruling party in check, we are just peasants who do what the so-called "Elites" dictate. One last thing, HDB upgrading carrot don't work for younger generation...want to be sensation? Demolish a few gantries...
  10. Your fork is stiff becos they have 0.90kg Ohlins spring inside. You can drop your fork through the triple clamp to lower the front
  11. If you check back a few pages down "On the Track", you can trace a thread which commemorate a fallen rider who passed away due to a freak accident caused by a damn irresponsible show-off. Maybe with due respect, we should avoid discussing this too much.
  12. It's actually a vicious cycle with no end. Cheaper cars = more cars More cars = more congestion More congestion = more ERP Government justify themselves by claiming that the ERP revenue is offset by road tax rebates and lower COE prices. ERP started in September 1998, COE QP for Total car population (Dec 1998) = 375,217 Now in September 2008, COE QP for Estimated Total car population (Sep 2008) = 800,000 I do not know the exact Math involved but seems like the government made more $$$ selling cheap cars and collecting "ongoing" ERP charges than charging a high COE price. Maybe we should demand the Ministry of Transport or LTA to reveal its accounts on ERP revenue. Who know it could be raking in millions or billion in profit.
  13. Hi fellow motorist, I am starting this thread to discuss all about our love-hate relationship with the infamous "ERP" system. Traffic congestion is now a phenomenum no only limited to our tiny country's CBD but also rapidly spreading to every corner, every housing estate. Lower cost of vehicle ownership through falling COE prices and road tax rebate are causing a massive growth in vehicle ownership with some families owning 2 cars per household. In layman terms, there are so many cars on the roads that traffic congestion will be literally "everywhere", i.e HDB estates, Shopping centres With more congestion, LTA have more excuse to erect more ERP gantries claiming to help ease congestion in the vincinity. However, all that does nothing to solve the fundamental issue of vehicle growth which causes these congestion in the first place. On a side note, given the wheelbase of an average motorcycle (excluding Goldwing), I do not believe a motorcycle contribute significantly to traffic congestion and hence I believe ERP or any congestion reducing system should not apply to motorcycle. In my opinion, to solve these congestion issues, the government should: 1.Curb vehicle ownership (Increase COE, increase road tax) 2.Improve public transport (Frequent trips, seating capacity)

  15. So the investment horizon will be dependent on the investment instrument? Let say I am only refering to stocks now. How will investment horizon differ between stocks such as blue chips, high-yield, low P/E or China stocks? I understand I am asking a very general question, so pardon me if I sound ignorant.
