Riding GSA1200 and cbr600rr now. Used to ride scooters like X9 and Vespa GT200, and bikes like TW200 and Super4. Class 2 bikes are not an overkill for Singapore roads if you have good discipline. Always better to have more power and torque at your disposal. If I can only have one bike it will be a class 2 adventure bike. Can put luggage, go touring comfortably, light off-roading. Just go up north to satisfy your need for speed!

Just collected my black Dec 2011 cbr600rr on Friday. Prefer the design on this bike. Need to ride with discipline if I still want to keep my licence! Suspect the sprocket was changed to increase gearing cos the ex owner said he changed to AFAM. More than enough poke for Singapore roads. Does get hot, but expected for a sports bike.

Most of the time I use a full face helmet. It's usually lighter and more comfortable. My flip up helmet is for very short rides in the neighborhood, petrol pumping and spare helmet for occasional pillion. Got a cheap open face as back up helmet but rarely use it. Safety first!

Hi I'm riding an oil cooled GSA. Enjoying the ride and thinking of changing to the new LC once the COE of my current bike expires. Can add me to the chatgroup? My number is 81138171.

Just to share. Got an oil cooled GSA with stock seats a month ago. Really a giant compared to my previous super 4. I'm 1.82m but with relatively short legs. I cannot flat foot with both legs on the ground. Once on the move no problem. The only problem I face is reversing into parking lots, especially with a slight incline or when the ground is slippery. Once, I parked head in down a minor slope and needed another biker's help to push out the bike. So now i always reverse in. Lesson learnt!

I was quoted crazy interest rates of 8-10% interest per year by Hitachi and other bike shops. U got lobang for financing? I need cash for my next car in 1.5 years time. I'm riding a GSA now so the CBR will be my light commute and track bike.

Hi guys, planning to get my first sportsbike. Having a hard time choosing between the more affordable Oct 2008 and a Dec 2011 Cbr600 which seems better as a long term bet given the high COE. They look very similar in design and features even though they are more than 3 years apart. Any experience or advice to share?

Appreciate your input Ultima. Yeah the 2011 one has had one owner and 20+k mileage while the 2008 one has had 3 owners and 70+k mileage. However I prefer not to reloan and get tied down to the bike shop (BP) so the 2008 one is definitely not such a big hit on the wallet. That's the only advantage of getting it over the newer bike. What are the common parts that fail on the cbr600? I used to own a 14 year old super 4 so I'm aware the repair bills can add up and eat away at the initial savings.

Currently riding GSA which is a bit big and heavy, so looking for a smaller bike for short trips to crowded areas and light track work.

Good choice! Super 4 Just nice for singapore traffic, can lane split and cruise comfortably. Go for spec 1. Buy high sell high. My spec 1 after some restoration work with COE till 2020 will depreciate about $100 per month assuming I scrap it and get nothing back at the end of the day. The bike complements my car perfectly and is a good training bike to prep for class 2 next year. I bought a spec 1 cos I understand parts are cheaper and more readily available than version S/R. The repair bill for version S may even go into the thousands if engine work is involved. More importantly check number of owners and service history. 2A bikes tend to be used as transition bikes so owners may neglect maintenance and pass on the problem to the next owner.- 2,474 replies
