Facts : Accident claim... Come in for those who have got accident claim pending..

Hi guys..

 

Would like to find out.. anyone have their accident claim pending?

 

for eg,

you send your bike for repair.. and then the workshop repaired it for you.

on the other hand, the workshop will do accident claim on the other party..

claiming on both injuries and motor..

 

Results will be pending. till further notice..

Once result is out.. roughly how much are you suppose to be paying?

 

for eg,

if the case is like 50%-50%.

 

is it true that you need to incurr half of the repair cost ? and the other half goes to the insured company of the other party?

Can the repair cost be too absurd? Some repair cost may even be higher than the cost of the bike you intially bought..

 

Anyway, that is nothing we can do.. the workshop already made the repair and you must paid whatever is being repaired ( am i right?)

I'm also waiting my lawyer to feedback to me..He had just sent a licensed surveyor to assess my bike damages and then generate a list for me to see if I agree with the amt of damage before i allow the bike shop to carry out the repair...As for the percentage of claim, i think it does not depend on the results of the TP..it depends on how the insurance company and ur lawyer fight the case..i heard that even if the other party was being summon by TP, but the insurance company can fight till 50-50%.

 

As for the repair cost, i head from others sayingthat if it is more than the purchase price of the bike, we can declare a total loss of the bike...meaning to scrap the bike...anyone correct me if i'm wrong...

ive been in an accident. i skidded and my bike hit a car. the car owner says he will be claiming from my insurance. ive already made my statement to the tp. it has been more than a month and have heard nothing from the car owner and the Investigating officer.

1) Hi cashwong, im just wondering if the insurance company will accept yr lawyer's licensed surveyor's report cos i heard some insurance company very "smelly 1" wont accept external surveyor easily..

 

2)another question, if let say the other party admit its her total fault to her insurance company, is this case considered 99% sure win?

recently been involved in a accident with a car. rear ended by the car at traffic light after i stopped. sent to a workshop and they assisted to process with claims. Letter for appointment of lawyer signed.

 

However, realised that the workshop was not honest. they changed my exhaust which was not original, but claimed that it was. anyway, things turned nasty. So i decided not to let them process the claims for me, as i rather go find my own lawyer.

 

in addition, how can i find out which lawyer i had appointed? the workshop refused to answer my call now and i did not take down the name when i sgined the letter. any any recommendation for lawyer?

 

any idea how i can proceed?

In an traffic accident aftermath, both parties will be bearing a portion of the fault as to how it happened.

As to how much it is, it depends on how the accident happened and what the TP decides after they carried out their investigations.

If the case is straight forward and the other party was fined/ charged by TP for careless, dangerous driving, then you will have a good chance of filing a good claim.

 

Most TP verdict comes after 6 months, some 1 year, some longer still.

You can try calling your IO on the progress of your case, but I think it does not really help much in expediting the process.

 

For scraping, if your bike value is like 3K, but the repair comes up to 6K, it does not makes sense to proceed with the repair, right?

unfortunately since u signed the lawyer letter, nobody can help u but the workshop. if u want to change lawyers, u'll need to bear the lawyer fee.

 

i suggest u pay the workshop a visit, ask them for a copy of all the letters u signed.
