there is no penalty for late inspection.

however, without inspection you have no insurance and no road tax. no road tax, whether bike used or not, is liable for late fee and may also get fined for keeping vehicle without valid road tax.

if you ride the bike will be even worse, because then you are riding vehicle without valid insurance cover. if the bike never ridden, then in all you are 'only' guilty of no road tax.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Insurance renewal does not require inspection. However road tax renewal requires it. If road tax has expired, it is an offence to ride it, even with insurance. Get a tow truck to tow it to the inspection center.

Nothing bad is going to happen even if you delay renewing road tax for 2 months, provided you do not ride the bike. Just pay the late fees when renewing road tax. However after 2.5 to 3 months, LTA will send you a letter to attend court. You have until 2 days before the court date to get the bike inspected and renew the road tax.

Don't ask how I know.

this is the correct and legal method. I notice many just take the risk and ride to inspection centre and renew road tax at the same time. They just pay the $10 or so fine (depending on how late the road tax renewal is).

Liverpool revival has started....
