Wow! This thread suddenly comes back to life lol... This bike sure gets people excited...

On a side note do not get misled by some folk here.

Which modern jap bike have electronic problems? None I know of.

Recalls? I know of a P.I who did recalls.

So to the some people here please do not be misleading.

Oh! And jap spare parts are not expensive. Go to FJT or Eversuccess. Try buying a fairing over a BMW counter and you will know what is expensive...

To add on, the benefits of having P.I around is you get bikes that agent do not bring in e.g XR650R, XT660Z etc and many more!

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with any P.I s

Is this bike targeted against the xt660 or xt1200? Or it's really in between ?

Bro I think you are outdated.

http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/recall-news-suzuki-recalls-2410-v-strom-1000s-dl1000-for-wiring-harness-possible-short-circuit

http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/recall-suzuki-recalls-sfv650-v-strom-650-and-burgman-650-for-tappet-cam-wear-issues

Current Japanese bikes are not equipped with much electronics anyway.

I expect more problem If they have the complicated computers like continental manufacturers.

There is a world wide recall for Yamaha R1 2015 gearbox last December.

Bear in mind the new R1 is the only Japanese bike with electronic package similar to BMW and Ducati.

I do not know what you mean.

If I think you mean I am referring to 'no electronic problems'? And you provided links to the recalls, none of the recalls are linked to electronic problem anyway.

But yes I may be outdated so can you so kindly an updated dude provide any link of modern jap bikes with electronic problem?

bike produced in 2014 and 2015 is not 'modern' enough ??

" Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2014 Suzuki DL 1000 motorcycles manufactured from January 17, 2014, to June 5, 2014, 2015 Suzuki DL1000 motorcycles manufactured from November 4, 2014, to February 6, 2015 and 2016 Suzuki DL1000 motorcycles manufactured from June 11, 2015, to July 15, 2015. The affected motorcycles have a wiring harness that may rub against the bottom of the fuel tank. Vibration from riding may cause the wiring insulation to wear off, allowing a bare wire to short circuit against the fuel tank.

WHAT COULD HAPPEN: A short circuit may cause the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash."

Not arguing la. I am providing my points of views. But the dude was quite rude. Any outdated uncle like me can see that that is not an electronic problem but wiring harness insulation issue. Or maybe it is an electric problem.

And I've booked mine also. But delivery unknown.. Feb? Mar? Apr? May? o_O

Yes, there are many positive reviews from owners and testers.

Top cons maybe are tube vs tubeless tyres, chain vs shaft drive, smallish tank and lower hp compared to the competition etc
