of coz advisable.....2b cheapest insurance of coz cheaper than 2a or 2.....where else are you going to get experience riding a bike.....get a second hand bike....depreciation not so bad.....go w an experience friend....have cash and budget in hand,.,.....buy cash....maintenance is depending on ur mileage......

you got the models or brand in mind....go to the right bike community and the infos is all there...do a search,..cheeers and happy riding!

I am a new rider myself. Do you want to upgrade to 2A in the future? If you do, in my opinion in financial sense, buy a 2nd hand bike COE left around 2 to 3 years costing no more than 2K. If you look around the website, 2A bikes tend to be cheaper than 2B bikes. Save the money, gain experience in riding then buy bigger bike. My 2 cents worth.

2A bikes cheaper than 2B bikes? Really? I was looking at 2A bikes a couple of months ago and they are quite overpriced. People were asking anywhere from $9-12K for 11-12 year old bikes, and 6-7K for 9 year old bikes. Pretty sure 2B bikes don't cost anywhere near that for the same age.

I agree with you 2B dont cost near 2A bikes. But if you given a choice, a phantom (200cc bike) with 3 to 4 years coe left costing 4 to 5K or.. A super4 (399cc bike) with same coe remaining costing 6 to 7 K? I take Super4 in my opinion for reliability, more power and better riding experience. I also agree because of the current coe, people taking advantage of the reality price of the bikes. It is hard to get a good price for a bike, a let alone a good maintain one.

Unfortunately, a super 4 with 3-4 years of COE left is not $6-7K. $6-7K is what people are asking for Super 4 Spec III whose COE is just about to expire. A Super4 with 3-4 year COE is closer to 9K (depending if its a Spec III or Revo). Those with 5 years COE are 10+K. I know this well because I was looking for a Super 4 and made a spreadsheet of the bike prices. The prices are crazy.

Agree. If they peg the bike below 10 yrs to current coe, consider reasonable.

But for bike more than 10 years still peg at current coe to me is a no no.

Yes buy. But don't think you can buy a more expensive 2B by saying you will skip 2A, that's living in self denial. When you pass your 2A licence you confirm find some way to upgrade one. My advice, just get a cheap 2B, keep your options open, then when you pass your 2A, it's easier to decide whether to upgrade.

I was also in the same situation.

Even before passing TP, the Duke 200, aprilia RS4 125 all looks good.

But I told myself that as a new rider and I always drive and I will upgrade to class 2. ....

I think better get first bike an old Honda Ta200 but after seeing and viewing at dirt wheel, mah pte ltd, unique.

Pulled trigger on the RC200.
