help! sparkplug soaked!

hello fellow forumners..

 

sorry noob here but ive got a problem with my bike..its a rd125.

recently just got it overhauled but now the problem is my sparkplug needs to be changed like every other day. everytime i take it out it seems like the bottom part is covered with oil or smth (black stuff so i presume its oil). what should i do ahhhh? is it the carb or smth?????

It's either becoz ur 2t or petrol setting too rich... Go back to your mech to get it tune..

Abit of residue is ok but not to the extend of the bike unable to start mean the plug is foul

If your description is accurate, black and oily, your spark plug is oil fouled.

 

Oil is leaking into the cylinder where it is being burned during the combustion process. Likely causes include a worn valve guide, worn valve guide seals or a worn piston ring.

 

To correct the problem your mechanic will need to locate the source of the oil seeping into the cylinder. Remedies frequently, include replacing valve guides, valve seals, or piston rings.

As this bike is an RD125 then it must be a two stroke, so noen of the above applies as he is talking about four strokes! If the plug is oily then there is too much oil being injected or premixed, you need to check this out first, modern two strokes should be run at no more then the manufacturers recommendations as modern oils perform much better than old purely minaeral based oils. The other problem could be a failed crankshaft oil seal, check the gearbox oil level to make sure its not being drawn past the crank seal and being burnt in the engine.

I'm riding RD 125 as well. So far no prob for the past 2 years but recenly after I changed piston same prob happen as urz. Spark plug black-black and got oil..tried to service carb then found out it got choke...and spark plug connector oso loose... after rectify this...so far ok now..hope still ok..

yes...the prob cud probably be the 2t set high. But u cant adjust it yet since piston just changed and needs some time to make to piston "season" and cannot ride fast. My mistake after after I reaplce the piston is I try ride faster than my normal speed..
