looking back, my xx ride for 1.5 years lugi 3k considered okay liao....

 

moral of the story, think about the depreciation. if u think u can afford it then u go and buy big bikes.

But if riding it for like more then 5 yrs. I think somehow it is worth it liao la. But singaporeans ah. always change one. Gd info josean.

The Depreciation of a 2B bike is consider only a fraction compared to bigger bikes.

Thats the part he have to give.

Being the first owner, you got the feel of owning a brand new bike.

Even thou its a different of a few hours upon collecting it, when you decide to sell it, uts already marked as a 2nd hand price regardless how brand new or how good the engine condition is.

Yea, I also got a friend who almost dumped away his skipper and get a K2 at that time.

Luckily he endured the temptation and continue his skipper up till today.

He was darn glad he made the right choice for resisting the temptation that time upon knowning the market value of a k2 now.

yeah new bikes depreciation is a much higher than a 2nd hand bike.

 

but think of it this way, you're buying a problem free (unless manufacturer defects blah blah) bike for the first 2-3years of the bike's road life. you wont have to change many wear and tear parts in this period of time.

 

a 2nd hand bike.. well.. thou sometimes you DO get a good buy, less probs or something, what are the chances of getting a 2nd hand cl2 bike which you dont need to spend money doing up? if you're lucky, you'll get a well maintained one. but sometimes you still need to spend money on it. would you like to spend most of your time in the bike shop? fixing up something that's spoilt or something?

 

for the smaller '2b' bikes, its relatively cheap to repair/replace parts. but for those '2a' sportbikes onwards, parts will only get more expensive. would you like to buy a 2nd hand bike, spend alot of time in the bike shop, spend alot of money replacing stuff? maybe the first few months will not have prob, but who knows after that? theres a chance of anything spoiling, cause its a 2nd hand bike after all. u ride it more, more wear and tear yes?

 

for my case, i bought a rvf last time. first few mths not much prob, but i still spent money on it replacing stuff like the wheel bearings, steering cone, servicing the front/rear brake calipers (the rear one was stuck), brake pads, blah blah blah. after riding it longer, i had to do MORE servicing to it. like servicing the 'proarm', replacing the rectifier, changing some wiring, changing battery and blah blah. yah all these are wear and tear, but all need $.

 

i calculated i lost arnd 8k (including servicing and maintainence and interest from installment) for the 1 1/2 year i got the bike. worth it? yeah it is, but isnt that the depreciation of a cl2 bike? okay i admit, im quite fussy about some stuff. cause i like to ride, i dont want a bike that gives me small prob here and there. thats why i changed some parts that were giving me probs.

 

anyway just think about it, you buy bike, u already lose money. u wana lose more 'on paper' when u buy a new bike? or u wana lose a lil 'cause 2nd hand bike depreciation is less' and spend more money on repairs and stuff? of course, i can always buy a wave or something if i just wana use it for transport, but i like riding too much to just use the bike as 'transport' ^^

But think then cl2 sports bike better haf new one. There are alot of people abuse the bike one. Very hard to find a gd one.

I am new in this forum and from NP, SoE. I know everybody have their own laptop. I have a Acer 1692 which is 15.4 screen. Was thinking of swapping it with the Acer 12.1 inch screen. I am riding a bike, so was thinking a smaller laptop easier to carrier and put inside box. If anyone got lobang that want to upgrade their laptop, pls call me at 90908161. My laptop is only 1 year old. Check the spec from acer.com
