K&N Filter vs OEM Filter Box: More pickup, better fuel economy. slight change of engine sound. (becomes higher pitched, at least on my rs125 previously)

As it is coned shaped, it allows more air to be sucked into the carb from all directions, improving fuel-to-air ratio, thus improving both pickup (ur petrol is burnt more efficiently) and FC (lesser petrol wastage, same theory as using 2 spark plugs instead of 1).

Our airbox is located on the left side cover just under the seat. notice that our air intake is only limited 1 miserable pipe, restricted by a box. the point of the filter is to filter any impurities that the air might contain.

refer to my illustration attachment for a better understanding (sorry i only got ms paint :cheeky: )

I've used k&n airfilter for a long time when I was riding my rs125. no problems whatsoever. it improves my pickup even thou i was using the old "milo" kong. and produces a very nice high pitch tone.

It's washable, recommend to wash every 20000k to remove the impurities stuck on it. further info please refer here RC-1060

bro, the air filter is to be placed under the seat, it's protected by the battery, the right side cover, and the left side cover(both can be opened by using ur key). very little amount will enter (unless your bike is lying down by it's sides?)

try this, after a heavy rain, open ur side covers. see if your battery/air filter box is drenched or not :cheer:

After fixing the K&N filter, does the air/fuel mixture ratio need to be adjusted?

not necessary if you are only doing a filter upgrade. coz not much diff after adjusting. I was thinking of change k&n filter and denso V-twin sparkplugs before I do a full service (coz my bike 1 yr old already) + tuning and adjusting of settings
