Hi, i am looking to buy an affordable Sportbike Pants that comes with a knee slider and i am interested in Komine PK-717 Mesh Pants. The problem is I dont know how to tell the difference between a genuine Komine product apart from the fake / replica one. Since there is a lot of replicas sold everywhere especially in my country this really concern me.

I want to know if the genuine komine product came with a warranty book or special packaging or something else as a sign of its authenticity.

Any answer would be appreciated. Especially if anyone had bought a Komine product before. Thank you very much

some time ago in this forum someone shared pictures of fake arai that was identical in looks to the genuine product, no difference whatsoever, and even came with the booklet. some counterfeits are so poorly made you can visually tell the difference, but some are so good you can't.

your best bet is to buy from authorised distributor. i dont know which country you're from, you can refer to their website here.

usually if you go to a reputable shop that is not authorised distributor, its probably genuine; but again i dont know which country you're form. in singapore shops typically dont openly sell counterfeit goods on their shelves. you might be able to find 'replica parts' under the counter, or from some private seller, but we have laws and they are enforced so counterfeits are rarely sold openly.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Easiest way is to of course buy from a reputable shop. In SG the distributor is Motorworld. As for counterfeits, I would say most if not all purported brand new Komine from online sellers (Aliexpress, Taobao) are rip offs. I bought a demin jacket from Aliexpress for S$100 including shipping and I knew instantly it was a fake. The CE armour was crap and back padding thinner than the authentic Komine ones.

Yeah I almost bought it from Aliexpress too since it was surprisingly cheap (half the price in japan). All the sellers claimed it to be genuine though, but for some reason they didnt post it as a "genuine guaranteed" product so it worries me.

A quick off topic question..can anyone suggest me which one is better, Komine PK-709, PK-717, or PK-725? (Performance wise and looks) well mostly looks. Personally i love the pk-709 looks, but some people said the pk-717 to be better. Any thoughts?
