its advisable to jus use oil meant for the different engines. Car EO for car, bike EO for bikes. And i'm pretty sure bus n lorries hav their own type of EO. If can use for any eng den might as well these oil companies manufacture a universal EO...dun hav to state car or bike. so plz..use the right EO for yr own safety n lifetime of yr bike. Dun burst yr eng aite!!!!

I second that.

It will also be too confusing for the layman to find out about oil ratings.

Car clutch system uses a clutch disc that has zero lubrication on the clutch facing when the pressure plate clamps it onto the flywheel. The Dot4 that people use as 'clutch fluid' is not meant to lubricate the clutch. It is meant to hydraulically operate the clutch master/slave pumps. Bike clutches are integrated and 4T will reach the clutch facings.

Why must someone use a car EO on a bike when there is bike EO readily available on the next shelf.

I'm not advocating the use of car oil for bikes, but sometimes, manufacturers just diversify their products range for their own gain, even when there is not much difference in the products itself.

ups for awareness and savings :D

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

Cars have dry clutches ie the clutch plates are not soaked in the engine oil whereas most bikes are wet clutches.

Car engine oils can have friction modifiers and other additives that make them super slippery... something you don't want coating your clutch plates.

Slipping clutches in resulting poor pickup and or glazed clutch plates are something you don't want on a bike.

Stick to bike oils... even Mobil One has fully synthetic oils specifically for bikes.

But then again.. its your money and your bike.. do as you deem fit.
