Don, if I may reply, the ones sold by NEO are pretty cheap for a bright LED.

 

I personally got a few from Sim Lim @ 80cents each. They are pretty useless as signals or brakelights alike.

Cents per lumen, you can't beat the value of Luxeon LEDs.

got the "555 IC" blinker circuit working

 

Now blinking too slow 1 sec 1 blink. will fix up on my bike after CNY... update result later...

 

nEO mentioned that the IC might be damaged by the unstable Voltage source... So let me testing for a week or 2 to try out!

Hi guys,

 

Can I have an idea of the dimensions of the LED? I am thinking of doing up a brake light for a DT200 scrambler and I am trying to see how to align the LEDs (4x1 array x rows or 2x2 array x rows, depending on the height) and to determine how many I need.

 

Also, with regards to limsteel resistor diagram, do I need to add on the resistor array onto my current brake system? Thanks!

Led comes in many sizes... those I using is 10mm Diameter. In any LED connection it is a MUST to have resistor.

 

You planning to have 2 LEDs by 2rows? meaning 4 LEDs only? like that you will need Luxeon LED else not bringht enough.

Thanks for the answer, I was referring to the LED size that Neo is bringing in, as I am trying to see how many can I cram into my brake light, not sure if I will be going for a 3 or 2 LED high designed array, for example:

 

3 x 5

2 x 6

x x x x x x

 

I plan to fill up my entire brake and signal casing with LED, not to use singular bright LEDs as I am aiming for it to be fully utilized, particularly my brake light, then after that if it works well, I would probably fix up one more for my current unused box light.
