What for the choices for 400cc SM bikes? drz, ktm,xr?

Prices for new/used models?

How much for maintainence, petrol consumption, handling.. blah blah?

I've not been updating myself for such info, so pardon me for asking... been thinking abt owning a sm bike for long time... i presume i will be able to own one after oct this yr... so i need some comparisons for now.. thanks...

jie~ wan to get supermoto ah~my choice will be the ktm400. highly upgradable, but high running costs compared to the drzsm, which is popular too. u can get a dr-e and then convert too.

J_W: thank you so much for this useful info...

eddy: try bike on kallang kfc? think i rather try their motards on track.. :cheeky:

evo & ktkt: i will nvr forget the torture of starting a wr400... it's super duper hard and tough!! i just cant get the hang out of it... starting a ktm2 is peanuts as compared to 400... haha...

I will change myself into a motard so that you can ride me.....

Jokes aside.... :cheer:

Complete pair of 999 clutch master cylinder and brake master cylinder /with intergrated reservoirs and with levers.

Just slap it onto your bike. Going for $700 for both.

Good for I can only think of KTMs!!!

So you must buy KTM.

Let me know if anyone is interested, else putting up on ebay for sale. :lovestruck:

If money no problem, go for a KTM lor.

If not, a WR400 is really rock-solid minus the lightness/e-start of the KTMs.

Economical solution to the DRZ-400SM, KTMs.

WR400's are going for a pretty nice price nowadays.

Ultimately, really boils down to your needs/budgets.

Hope to see you on your motard soon. :lovestruck:

Would have loved a nice, trick WR4 or KTM4/525 motard but mine has to be my daily workhorse also so I chose the DRZ.

Sometimes you gotta make compromises.

There are numerous people who will tell you that you can ride a WR/KTM daily though. And it's true.

My ride for 2012 - Yamaha WR250X 2008

Previous rides:

ROAD/FUN: Honda Sonic, VTR250, Kawa Z1000 & Kawa KSR110, Suzuki Savage

SPORT: Kawa ZXR400, Suzuki SV650, Honda CBR600F3 & CBR929RR, Aprilia RS125 & RS250,

DIRT: Honda XR200 & XR600L, DRZ-400SM, DRZ-400-S, GasGas EC200, KTM 200 EXC & 250EXC-F, Tricker
