IMO HJC is in a different league comparing 2 the other 3 brand.

AGV is more to european cutting whereas Arai n Shoei is more suitable for asian.

currently using AGV Longway and HJC Pegasus. felt the HJC one is better. the AGV longway flip up helmet i have is also 200g heavier than the HJC full face. over all the HJC i think is better in terms of ventilation and comfort.. to me la.. somemore the HJC is cheaper. but well if im not wrong if u wanna invest in the safety. Arai and Shoei is the best.

Arai n Shoei is well known 4 quality wise. nt so sure abt AGV but heard tt the sound proof is way better than the others.

AGV and HJC frm europe

ARAI and Shoei frm JPN

In sg..i suggest u choose helmet with PSB sticker...W/o it...chances of claiming the head damage during accident is very low.touchwood*

For me...i'll choose Arai...been using this since 2002..1/2 & full face had nv fail me.

Of coz other brands is good. Comfort wise depends individually.

1. AGV- i love the flip up

2. HJC- Cheap for a such good quality

3. Arai- the shape is nice

4. Shoei- Wat can i say?...paintwk lah. :)

had worn Arai Astro-M, now usin' Shoei's X-11 & AGV's Ti-Tech. all comes with removable inner padding.

my review:

Arai

+ superb paint finish. easy maintenance.

+ stepless visor facilitates smooth opening/closing visor - very useful when wearing thick gloves

- front rubber strip (chin area) easily stripped off due to constant opening/closing of the chin visor. a simple super glue wud do the trick tho.

- visor side pods are prone to cracking if u regularly changing/taking off the visor. a friend's spanking new RX7-RR4 already had cracks on his side pods!

- noisy if the air vents are open

Shoei

+ superb paint finish. easy maintenance.

+ pod-less free, easy visor changing

- noisy if the air vents are open

- dunno if dis is a rare case, but mine got water seep in thru the upper vent during heavy rain!

AGV

+ very light (1.4kg approx)

+ superb paint finish. easy maintenance.

+ pod-less free, easy visor changing

- noisy if the air vents are open

- ear padding areas too tight (tho wearing the correct size), long journey will make my ears hurt!

For me it has to be an ARAI. :thumb:

Had a Shoei before and really liked it as well.

But in terms of comfort, the Arai (RX7RR4 & Rapide SR) is much better than the Shoei for both me and my wife (of course, comfort experienced is subjective to one's head shape).

In terms of looks, the Arai appears to have a better profile in that you don't look like an astronaut wearing it. Build wise, I have no reason to suspect their quality as long as you take care of it.

The minus point for me is the graphics scheme. The Shoeis & AGVs look way better than Arai's current range. Eagerly looking forward to Arai's 2008 range as they seem to have some nice ones. Again this is subject to one's taste of course. Yup you guessed it, my Arais are all solid colour schemes.
