Dunno what model la, only know it's Metzler.

 

But it seems to be quite grippy on the Blade, Rommel is also using Metzler.

Just came back from KL this morning. Went home to collect engine oil, then went to BS to change.

 

Saw Saufi there, confirm coil issue, his is the coil and flywheel combo, just after 2 months.

 

Looks like it's not working, but Honda already has a new set of coil and flywheel for the 04 & 05 models. The coil and flywheel comes together and is under 1 part number.

 

Had a chance to sit down with Andy too. The older coils are thinner and have more wounds, the new ones are thicker and have less wounds. The lacquer (?) is also of better quality I was told.

 

When I left BS, Saufi was still waiting for his new coil to arrive.

 

2 days ago, my trip to KL was delayed by morning thunderstorm. When the rain subsided, my bike's cranking felt weak too. I suspected the coil, so I immediately rode to BS that morning. Took out the coil to inspect it physically, no issues fortunately. Probably a cold morning, needs extra cranking. My coil is now over 14,000km.

 

The only problem was, the bike lift malfunctioned, and my bike was stuck on it. In the end, had to reverse it on the back of a lorry, and then lower it down.

 

Can't help but feel some unseen forces were at work to delay my trip, rain, coil, bike lift.

Was just quoted OTR SGD21300 for a Repsol color CBR1000RR and SGD22300 for a K7. Don't know which is a better value. Judging by the coil problem, I think K7 should be a better idea.

 

So I suppose Saufi does not need to pay additional since his coil got 6 mths warranty.

 

Tashi, U are still back in one piece so there is no unseen forces, no worries. So how much was the new coil?

Sep 02 to Oct 02- Black Cagiva Planet (1 word Lousy)

Oct 02 to Oct 03- Yellow RXZ133 (Too light for me)

Oct 03 to Mar 05- White Purple CBR 400RR (Not enough style & power)

Mar 05 to Dec 06- Red CBR 1000RR (Wonderful except the magnetic coil issue)

Dec 06- Dec 07- Black VFR 800 (Good bike but not my style, thks for the memories)

Dec 07- Black GSX1000K8 (Nothing else to say except Damn good)

Dunno how much is the new coil and flywheel. Mine was only false alarm, no coil burn.

 

Which shop quoted you?
