i installed a pair of Stebell magnum electric horns to the cbr1000rr5, mounted on the left side of the fairings, as there issan't any mounting points on the right side though....

 

few days later, one of the pair, spoiled due to excessive heat.... This had not happened on my gsxr1000k3 before....

 

do anyone of u guys here installed those on ur bikes also???

Just like to say a big thank you to Bro Raptor for informing me on the missing stickers for my bike Repsol paintwork, this is what happened.

 

 

Brought my CBR1000RR from Lee Motor on collect the bike last sat evening, that time i didn't realised the missing stickers which is meant on the bottom of the side farings. The bike came from MAH PTE LTD.

 

On mon morinig while surfing the net, realised the problem and sent a PM to bro Raptor for advice.

 

Today noon, i went down to MAH PTE LTD to check with the sales person in the shoproom, he told me that the repsol paintwork bike does not come with the stickers and they cannot anyhow stick. i totally don buy his explaination and make a trip to Boon Siew Honda to find out more.

 

Over at Boon Siew, the friendly sales person (Kelvin) inform me that the stickers actually came togather.

i went back to LEE MOTOR and inform the sale person to help me check, i told him i want the stickers since i'm paying for the bike.

 

He called and check with the mechs at MAH and say they will give me the stickers. Inform me that they will give me a call when ready for collection.

 

In summary, i think the mech at MAH kept the stickers for themselves cos it cost over $200++. Any future buyer please make sure that everything is given to you and make them put it in black and white.

hi, any bladers bro can help me?? i got a problem here... just back home... just now bike outside cant start the last few times i start the neutral light starts to blink already.. i suspect battery is going to flat, i go high rev the rpm at 7000rpm till 5th gear. hope tat it will auto charge back.. but after tat more most.. everything start switching off when i try to start. just wanna know anyone have this problem b4? i onli ride 5months 11km. battery can be so fast flat meh? i very scare that it is the magnatic coil problem.can anyone advise me wat to do... thanks... -----

i go and push start the bike and come back home as this timing cant call tow truck liao.. no chioce.. heard this will make the macnatic coil burn.. is it true?

In 5 months, you only covered 11 km? You must have left your bike untouched too long, battery have discharged.

From what you are describing it sounds more like a rectifier and/or battery problem coz you can push start the bike and the bike runs OK.

 

The magnetic coils by the looks of it.. seem ok coz once you got the bike started they are providing the electrical power to keep the bike going.

 

The issue here is whether the rectifier is doing its job and converting the alternating current produced by the magnetic coils into direct current to recharge your battery. If the rectifier DC output checks out fine, then it could be that the battery is internally shorted and therefore unable to hold its charge.

 

I can only think of Meng Tong of Loois Motor who can troubleshoot this real fast.

 

Hopefully it is your battery that is shorted internally. Of the three possible components... it is the cheapest.

 

Disclaimer: I ain't no electrician but this what I have heard of the workings of the electrics on a bike. I could be wrong.

I don't want to be the Devil's advocate but do check the backing of the stickers.

The original stickers are made by 3M. And the background is deep gun metal blue, almost black.

The injector problems i had is just injectors out of balance, had it balanced and everything is fined.

Sorry to make your heart jump ! From my experience,I can tell you

that your magnetic coil fried ! I had the same problem.You can push

start the bike but try and off your ignition & start again.If you can't

start the bike again,confirm plus chop your coil fried ! When you rode

the bike bike,did you notice the neutral light seems like flickering ?

If yes, to you ! Anyway bring it to BS,your warranty

should cover it.

Luckily the bike is still under warranty.

 

Or not can be an expensive affair. Hey chilly, for our knowledge, how much did it cost to replace the magnetic coil on your bike. I mean total cost of parts plus labour??

Around the same mileage as yours (+-).Your bike,is it a BS or parallel import

bike ? If it is a BS bike , Why didn't you go to BS as it is under warranty ?

Afdah got it changed at BS F.O.C as his warranty covered it !

no warranty leh...
