actually .. it havent died on me yet .. but it seems like everyone here who got the bike before me have the coil problem .. some had the bike after me ..

 

my warranty ends tomrz ... so better safe than sorry .. so i asked mengtong to see see look look ... he only electric start once.. n say i'm correct, burning liao .... :cry:

 

not much symptoms though .. few stints i had was .. i tot i had WRX's turbo charge in my babe ..... start the bike, it gave the loud "pphhssssshhhhh" but not a backfire.. just the sound ..

 

so to be safe ........

 

the bike is 1yr old on the 20th .. milage 10k+ only .. such a waste .. no more riding kakis so end up being an expensive transport to work .. :sweat:

Well, 1 year is quite long.

As most of the guys encountered in between 5mths to 9mths.

 

btw, if ur interested, maybe u cld join us and meet up for makan session during the weekends. :smile:

my cbr fork seal leaking liao... left side...

went to boon siew, they say no stock, wait 3 mths...

i think it's dame stupid...

 

moreover they wanted to change 1 side for me only.

i think it's even more stupid...

they have no idea the rating/amount of the oil to use...

they have no idea how a pair of forks will react with different oil or even used oil and new oil for both the forks...

 

how will they even learn to be smart???

 

BS is really not doing their job well....

From what I know, Honda Japan is aware of the coil problem. However, they won't be issuing a recall. Not all problems warrant a recall. If Honda Japan doesn't issue a recall, their agents can't initiate that on their own.

 

They should have a 2nd gen coil. I would ensure the coil I am getting is of a different gen from the one that is burnt.

 

1st time I hear of fork seal leaking. Rick, gather your facts again and go talk to them.

ya.... it's only 4k plus milage and the seals gave way... though i can't blame them for it, but they should at least change both the seals for me, as well as the fork oil...

 

no point talking to them ah....

i had been patient talking to the lao ah peh...

can't stand it when they try to act smart/knowledgeble...

i'm going again when the 3mth deadline is up, if they refuse to change both, i will slap the ah peh who spoke rudely to me..

my bike is now at boon siew .. mengtong told me he checked and verified coil problem .. BS wants to "examine" it so mengtong told me he wun be replacing it for me himself ..

i have no time to do it myself so no choice, asked them to tow over ...

yep sure sure .. wanted to join so many times but due to work commitments .. can only "follow up" on the aftermath in this thread .. sigh ........

Sean, can't remember. Only that site mentioned Akra is coming out with new pipes. I tried to serch for more info, also couldn't get it anywhere else.

 

LD, which dealer you getting from? I'm already designing my next bike. one ting about Devil pipe is, it juts out too much from the back.

Rick, your fork oil seal leaked is a normal syptom for you which you cant claim. Who call you ah... everytime ah...lalala lah...

But at least you let us know that we cant get our HESD serviced by them.

haizz ... lost ...

collected my bike .. was told nothing wrong, was stripped n checked, no burnt mark, charging good, all's fine.....

 

should i be getting disappointed with mengtong? or should i be suspecting BS?

Anyway, since your warranty is expiring, the right thing to do is to have it checked. You gained peace of mind, rather than worrying about riding a time bomb.

 

I don’t know how he could tell just by starting the bike. Maybe it’s so common, he was making a gamble just to impress you? My charred coil couldn’t even be detected by using the voltmeter.
