1. Proof that Ronald had always want to be James Bond. The way he sneaks his hand in his jacket, almost like James Bond.

2. One of the seafood restaurants in Starhill. The decor is like a ship.

3. The toilet in Starhill. It's like going into a Spa Village. It smells very nice. The tap is actually a huge bamboo structure where you have to pull a handle to pump out the water. Chilly was too shy to take that pic in the toilet, so we only managed this. Ronald doing the Daniel Craig pout here again.

7. Some silicone lubricant I bought in KL. It's from the WD40 brand I think, not as drying as WD40, and doesn't fling those hard to clean off grime.

Hi evryone..My fiance and i just got our CBR1000 2006 yesterday from Mah pte..Plate FBB1920*..Hopefully by joining this forum,we would be able to gather more info and knowledge on the maintenance of our bike..So any advice or pointers are welcomed..!!

First up we would like to ask is about the tyres..I meant the stock ones..Are they slippery when its raining? What can we do to fix this apart from changing the tyres? I got an info from a fellow SBF member to go tune our suspension..Is it true? And if we were to change tyres, what brands would be recommended?

Secondly is it recommendable to fix on "Sliders"..?? How does it work actually? Any good ones in the market currently??

Thanks soo much guys..Looking forward to your replies..

P.S : Pics of our "baby" will be uploaded soon.. :cheer:

Din / JB, I find the Blade runs better on thinner oil. But you guys can try a thicker oil, you may like it better. 10W60 sounds very thick. The engine runs hotter, and doesn't feel as lively. Modern engines these days have tight clearance. Thinner oil is better.

I have been previously using Maxima 15W50.

thats actually much thicker than the 10W60.

The thickness of the oil is at the front rating before the W.

the lower the rating the thinner the oil, and the higher the rating the thicker the oil.

The 5W50 wic most of us are currently using including myself, is said to be quite thin due to the 5W rating. Though its not recommended for everday use, it runs very smooth n excellent for our bikes. But im quite skeptical that rating 5W is kinda too thin.

And the rating at the back after the W is the rating to withstand the heat acculmulated and etc. The higher the rating the better. Most especially for big bikes, due to the extreme combustion and heat produced and etc.

Currenly most of us are using W50. But some even W40, wic is nt actually recommended.

But having said all that, and by theory the 10W60 seems to be an excellent choice. Its best I give the oil a run and post my review here. Different oils seems to have different performance, feelings, smoothness, rider confidence and etc on our bikes.

Well, for the tyres wic is the BT015... they have very excellent reviews and feedbacks here from those who had used them.

Though if ur still keen to chg ur tyres, i would volunteer myself to buy them from u...

Well, for sliders... it depends individually, but if ur afraid of minor falls and minor accidents, n not confident or its ur first time riding a class 2 bike, it would greatly help in protecting your fairings during falls n accidents and to some extend your legs too... there are brands of sliders available that dont require u to drill thru the fairings..

Ladyvamp, the 1st thing when your fiance gets the bike is not to sit on it. Otherwise the plastics under the rider seat will get scratched. Get some foam tapes and tape up the staples under the seat.

I should get going, otherwise I'll be late.

Wah...

it struck me,

that u never fail to advice every new blade rider about the "plastics under the rider seat" thingy... :cheeky: hahaha

Europeans tend to be more supportive I guess... I don't remember my Dad doing that to me when I was young. And these days, he actually asked me to sell my 6 & get a wave. :giddy:

For the stock tires, the rear slipped a few times when the multistorey carpark is wet from rain. I've also got rear tire slip a few times after heavy downpour, it happened when I tried to throttle too much too fast when the road was wet and the rear slipped a bit.

As for sliders, I fixed the cut version. This cut version is actually not suited for the 06 blade, cos when I fixed it, I had to get the left slider file out a slot for the fairing screw to come out.

That aside, the sliders saved my blade more than once. I had an accident at the Rochor exit previously, the sliders took much of the damage, very little damage to the fairings. I also dropped my blade once, sliders took the damage as well, nothing happened to my fairings.
