With regards to the warped tail light lens issue... I too was worried about the heat that was being generated by the OEM exhaust can after I read what you guys posted in here about it. It retained alot of heat and touching it after a long ride was sure to end with burns.

Strangely, after I changed the end can to the street legal titanium Yoshimura (same as Jerry7007's)... the end can be held even after a long ride.

Hey Jerry, go try it and you can vouch for me that I ain't bull crapping about this!!

It is amazing that the titanium end can could dissipate the heat so fast!! Don't try putting a finger in the exhaust opening to touch the internal baffle pipe though, that one is really hot. I found out.

At least I can now rest assured that the tail lens would not suffer from heat distortion.:thumb:

Tail light should not warp if bike is not covered after riding. If covering is needed, it should be done where the exhausts are expose.

Hey guys,

Just wondering what is the operating temperature of your bikes, when cruising on the expressways / NSH and what speed, when in jams and traffic lights when does the fan come on and what is the highest temperature you have seen displayed?

Plug in your data and we can compare.

Because of the size of the radiator, the biggest on current sportsbikes, the bike actually runs much lower temp at speeds above 180 kmh, I found out at the Second Link but could not sustain the speed long enough to see the stabilised temp. Some of you who have run the NSH may provide more details.

Have any of you removed the thermostat from your radiators? Frankly I feel like getting rid of mine. It is not needed in our climate and if it screws up the machine will overheat. A vestigial organ like an appendicts in our body.

Raptor

79 -82 F @ 100 kmh on the expressways.

Radiator fan comes on at 104 F

Highest temp displayed : 108 F.

So Ken , how's ur training going ? Any progress ?

When ur going to enter the "Manhunt Contest" ?

I went to BS about 4-5 times to see the BS "taichi master" !

At one time , I even had to raise my voice because he tried to taichi his way out !

Although AT in-charge of this thing , AT still have to consult him.

Raptor, while travelling at NSHW, if the air is cold enough, i had seen mine hitting 75 degree b4. if cruising along NSHW will be below 79 degree.Traffic jams i had seen mine hit once 111 degree b4.

Some of us are using Engine ice now and it can allow ur bike temperature to climb slower if travelling slow, but if bike is at halt, it will climb fast too. And we had put the radiator wire mesh on thus if withoutit, the effect of the engine ice will be better.

To take out the thermostate is what i intend to do, but i decided to do it when i m doing my valve clearance as it is quite a mess to take out the thermostate.

So u had put on an exhuast, but is it with a PC too? if no, do u experience backfire/pop pop sound?

Got change air filter too? cos when u put on the exhuast, the bike will run lean and with an air filter, it will be leaner and ur bike's temp will be climbing fast too.

Are u a tall guy with specs, short hair, parked ur repsol bike on the pavement beside forum coffee bean b4, and known a K3 with numberplate 28?

Chilly, i m not a good flamer and i m a shy guy, afraid that i might not be able to withstand the tachi master and decided to use force. hahaha. See when i free and got time then go play with him. hahaha.

As for my body... only train my stomach to tahan sushi buffet only leh. pai sei pai sei.

Tashi, any updates on the fairing complaints?

And its been quite a while b4 we had a RR4 gathering man.

U guys looking for a gathering? :hungry:

76 to 83 dc during HW riding.

Can hit up to 109 dc in city.

Fan comes on at 106 dc.

for mine, fan "on" at 103deg .. "off" at 100deg

Some strange reactions from ur baby.

I think what most of us experience is fan on at 105 degree which the meter will not show and the next reading u see will be 106 degree.

Fan will be off at 100 degree.

i remembered u mentioned that ur normal headlight is left side turn on?

Maybe u can check with chilly.

But all in all, i think all these is small case.

So when wanna have a gathering guys?

Definitely not at some places with waitresses that will turn me onz.

Lets meet tomorrow evening.

I noticed that everyone here seem to talk about meeting up at KKFC... Kallang Kentucky Fried Chicken?? Is that by the National Stadium??

I just did a radar weather check... seems like it is going to be hot tomorrow.. lots of sunshine mixed with some clouds... with clear evening skies.. can see stars somemore...

I can save my beer drinking and clubbing to Saturday for a change. I normally don't ride my bike on weekend nights.

Anyone game for this.. or perhaps you guys have a better venue in mind??

It will be great to meet up with you guys for a change instead of chatting thru the computer screen.
