Y u wanna change from carburator to Fi?

U need a new ECM as Fi uses electric signal for ur Air/fuel ratio.

Google for Fuel injection and u'll see the stuff that is needed to make Fi works.

My orgasm starts at 299km/h.....

What does it take to convert a cabrated single cyl to a fuel injection???

You need a new bike.

If you need to ask, you are probably better off getting a stock EFI bike.

thing is,,,somtimes a rider like me,finds a bike that he has hated all his life and then when he ends up buying a bike ,that was the only bike that suited him(hight,n stuff)-im 6"3'

and i dont have much of a choice of bikes in my budget..since i already have 1..

just wanted to know what i should look out for b4 changing it to fi....

is it even possible....

Seriously, some ppl prefer carbs to Fi or otherwise. The gd thing abt carbs is dat its still proven to be powerful but not good on the fc region whereas Fi is gd in Fc but not on power. So pros and cons here.

Carbs are tune manually whereas Fi,u need a lot to gizmos or proper set-up stuffs/equipment to enhance its performance.

Fi works depends on throttle position sensor, gear position sensor, knock sensor(on some bikes),MAP sensor...and the list goes on and on.

Unless u're are willing to fork out$$$$ juz to convert from carbs to Fi..then its ur call.

You will need at least the following:

- ECU from some donor bike

- Injector from some donor bike

- Suitable throttle body

- Completely customised wiring harness

- Various sensors from some donor bike

- Assorted EFI odds and ends

Then you will somehow need to make all this fit and work for your bike.

EFI systems are designed specifically for each bike model. Although there are EFI conversion kits available for cars, these are also model specific. I have never seen any kits for bikes.

Unless you have plenty of time, patience and money, and a desire to proof a point, you are better off selling the bike and get a fuel injected bike.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

Surely you can, and it's definitely cheaper than getting a new bike but it does take hell alot of patient and reading up.

If you are attempting this modifications, here is what you need :

megasquirt ECU kit

fuel injector

fuel pump

O2 sensor not mandantory

ECU kit comes with a MAP sensor

TPS

Temp sensors

Throttle body can be converted from your existing carburetor

You can order your megasquirt with all software to tune your ECU here : http://www.megamanual.com/index.html

The end result, if it works, will be very satisfying. But reliability may not be better than your stock carb, and performance may not be superior to a FCR carb conversion, if that's an option.

Didint understand this...isnt a throttle body sensar good enough...

by the way i have come across 3-4 sensars, all the sensars seem to be placed outside the engine. but just wanted to make sur if i neednt medde woth the engine casting to place the sensars...

was just boowsing the net..... seams that when cars were shiftting from carb to fi from the 1950-80's,waht they were actueally doing is building somethig called CENTRAL FUEL INJECTION that was a bolt on kit to a carb,,what i put that on my bike...

from where can i order CFI kits.?

Sounds like the mechanical EFI, like the one on the original VW Golf GTi ?

Space could be a constraint.
