Brain got blood clot ah... Dunno still there or not... That time accident, the doctor do MMI and told my parents there's a blood clot in my brain, might need to operate to remove it if the blood clot gets bigger... But luckily it never become bigger... So the doctor said just leave it there, it might dissipate itself... So I not sure if its still there or not lo... Haiz...

Its mri. Magnetic resonance imaging. While the clot may not have become larger, depend on which part of the brain its located, the clot may cause change in behavourial pattern. Its best get another scan done to show no change. Erratic behavior maycause misunderstanding with colleagues, outsiders or even relatives

I also had the same injury. Went for MRI 3 times or more and countless X-rays. So far so good.

Same here. One MRI already costs a few hundred. What more the X-rays and following check up appointments and not forgetting my operation alone is already more than 10k. But so far so good. Hoping for better things to come.

Now that people are discussing injuries and check ups....

Here is what l have been telling a lot of people.

In Singapore, you really cannot afford to be sick or injured.

A old man mentor has diabetes and so on so forth old folks kinda sickness. He has those medi shields kinda thing. Thankfully, he wasnt so poor with 3 grown up and good kids. He accumulated his receipts for the medical treatments and went forth to claim.

The counter folks tells him, that he need to accumulate 3k worth of receipts before the cheque payments can be issued to him.

I went 'Allo 3k, thats like 1/2 a year worth of meals for a widowed old folks! No wonder there are lots of old folks that are not willing to spend money to buy their meds! Because they do the treatments/meds, they cannot afford to eat!'

And payments, the payment only pay back when they die?

Woow, kitty , i being medical professional , dont know about this . that shows they try to hide so that by the time i can collect, they will say gament cant allow that anymore.

In Singapore, you cannot afford to be a citizen, better to renounce citizenship and come back here as a foreigner.

Agree, sometimes I wish I wasn't a Singaporean. I asked my dad why didn't he let my mom give birth to me in Malaysia, he said the Singapore law states that any Singaporean (my mom) who marries a foreigner (my dad) and has a child, has to give birth to the child in Singapore. Or else the child can't be let into Singapore. Or something like that. This just proves my point that Singapore is a screwed up country with screwed up laws. And some of these screwed up laws protect screwed up people who attack others for no apparent reason.

Get proper medical insurance. Go hospital (those tat has e system called "e-something, check with agent), auto no need pay money. No need to get receipt claim, etc.

Of coz up front e premium seems heavy but wat is insurance for? To cover unforseen circumstances. If we can forsee then no need buy insurance, just buy 4d.

actually... after some of his posts maybe correct ahahaha.

That said (no more joking), after a period of time there is a good chance that it has been absorbed by the body but can get an MRI to check.

The grass is not greener... be thankful for what you have here in Singapore (if not, go to parts of India/Indonesia and you will then realise).

Its a few hundred after some borned the insurance. You probably had to pay more due to your earnings. So no such thing as subsidy for you.

Of course. Comparing Singapore to other 3rd world countries sure Singapore is better.

I dont think you understand.

I was also accompanying some single old folks living alone to medical treatments. I volunteered with Tsao Foundation before.

Medishield is insurance.

Ok. Here's how some of this so called insurance scheme works. You produce your NRIC or even your medical card.

They can deduct the treatment, like a x-ray, eyecheck or whatever from there. And later they will claim from your insurances or your CPF. depending on whether the procedure is in the covered list.

And then, you are given prescriptions where you get eye drops or medications. You go to buy your medications with cash, unless you got a letter that says you are sponsored by some organisation.

From then on. You have to accumulate the receipts or keep the receipts for claiming and record purposes later. Once you accumulated lets say enough, you file that in, and the insurances or whatever it was will issue you payments back.

Imagine folks with diabetes, high blood pressure and so on that needs consistent medication. And if you are unemployed, with bills and families to feed. Will you spent $10 even for medication or use that $10 for a couple of meals?

Maybe e cases u referring to r pre/existing conditions, thus under e insurance is already not covered?

Also e default medishield coverage is different from e extended version. Thus u need to top up premium wih cash which most pple wont wish to pay.

As for e receipt thing u mention, both me and my mum (i bought e same for her) auto claim without any need for receipt. Only call/sms my agent to verify if e medical case was claimable. :/

Maybe e scenario or patient or person u mention is different from my situation.

People from developed countries say Singapore is expensive. If I was born in Indon or India, I would love Singapore.

Thankful is thankful but we need a change but if the citizens here are sheeps to a slaughter, I really see it would be a better option to migrate. Afterall, humans used to move from one place to another in search for better pastures when the one they live on has gone to sh!t.

I really see it would be a better option to migrate.

I just came back from a trip to Australia (Melbourne)...

-Rent is now more expensive but it is true the accommodation will be bigger but no facilities like here (that said where I have lived in SG never any facilities)

-Taxi's, trains or any form of public transport is much more expensive, dirty, vandalised etc

-Food is much more expensive in supermarkets (other than some meat) and restaurants very expensive

-Housing is cheaper v's condo/landed in SG but much more expensive v's HDB

-Cars are cheaper due to COE but motorbikes about the same cost

-Tax is a killer v's SG so even cheaper items really should be doubled in cost for comparison as you had to earn so much more to get the same net cash

-There is graffiti everywhere, the streets are littered, it's not safe in so many areas at night, syringes in the gutter in many suburbs etc

So I can speak from my own personal experience... SG is a great place.

It probably is, considering 'you' as a factor.

Most folks dont have 'you' and most folks are not aware of how their situation can hurt since they arent prepared. The older generation is afterall the pioneers of the 'sheep' that was led and taken care of.

I'm ok with any country that doesn't take so much money from citizens. Coe, road tax, income tax, gst, SDPC, erp, and all the bullcrap the Singapore government made up just to collect more money from us...

1k ?? means you could have been scanned in a really private hospital ME, gleneagle or raffles.hopefull you got enough money to pay for the treatment or company or even insurance. but for us average singaporean, the idea of $300 dollar scan is exorbitant. and worse if our class status is not so well off such as class c or b, then if a scan is required, you will probably be put last on the list. no special previlige. VERY SAD.
