Hi to all classic british bikers out there If theres any.

Cathay Cineplex will be holding a Bikers Film Festival on the 4th to 8th April 2008 at the Cathay Cineplex located at Handy Road. This event is in conjunction with the revealing of a new movie called 'On Any Sunday 1971'. The movie is about motorcycle racers and racing enthusiasts in the 1970s. There will be about 6 vintage british bikes from Singapore at the event for display.

Why only british biker can hop by and see? japanese bike cannot?

remember during 70's, japanese bike already won most of the race and the sale is up to the top over the world but your british bike sitting in the show room waiting for sale. If talking about 70's racing, japan bike already won most CC event and that why british stop production their bike :dot:

British bikes rule early days in S'pore until late 60s onwards when e influx of Jap bikes kill off e british bikes. A lot of Norton Manx, Commandos have won e GP races here. A no of these racers are still around like Ah-Kau of Upper Serangoon who won awards with his Triumph T100 no: SAA333.

British bikes still command a higher value then Jap ones and maybe tats e reason why e organiser prefer british to Jap bikes for display and also in conjunction with e movie 'The Motorcycle Diaries' which hes showing tat evolves around a Norton 16H.

Im stil away on business trip but my friends bikes will be on display. Too bad i cant display mine:cry:

you know why there is no japanese bike come in those day? japanese bike are very ex those day, not many ppl can afford and even those japanese bike came in are all 2nd hand bike. what you think if a cb750 was here during that time?i guess all british bike cannot fight.. British bike are nice but not really higher value then japanese bike.. how much can you sell your british bike at singapore? 16k max i will say, but a 1969 cb750 cost about 25k now.

cb750 was in the Best bike ever built NUMBER 3 place!!! your so call higher value british bike not even in top 10 list. your bike high value because all CLOSE SHOP, cannot find anywhere and not really or good handling. Please do understand that.

Someone spent 40K sgd and send his cb750 K1 to UK for a full restore, will you spent that kind of money?

Someone collected more than 80 A1 japanese vintage bike here. IF he want to show his collection, i guess the organiser will prefer his collection.

We all like vintage bike here and not saying british bike or japanese bike. We love riding together and please understand that.

Maybe u used to own a british bike in yr dreams if u say not really or good handling.

Maybe u should vent yr frustrations to the organiser for not picking Jap bikes.

Too bad this film festival's theme is BRITISH not jap. And pls digest tat too. Cheers and ride safe.
