Tuas track, i think definitely can bottom out the shorty man, maybe i shd get it adjusted to be stiffer.

no worries.jumps are safe 2 roll over but m sure yr forks can take it s even the 65 cc bikes r riding on the track 2 without any problems. drop by there dis sunday. m sure u will enjoy yrself.

how much to use it? free? its above the motard track right? between the route into nusa hill and the bike shed at the track?

hi,yes its free but please observe the rules s posted in the sbf-mssc folder. c u there dis sunday? and yes,the location is correct except now u can go in 2 the track frm the main road! ( at the roundabout head in the 12 o clock direction n u can see the track)

well,its good 2 have 2 differrent types of tracks 4 the riders 2 ride/train on.

1) tuas is a supercross track.

2) nusajaya is a motocross track.

so its depends on wat kind of mood 2 ride wat kind of track u r in on dat day.

at yr current level since u r juz starting out,lets keep the cost down 4 u!

 

helmet - yr road full face would be 2 hot 4 u when u go off road. try 2 get a good open face helmet 4 a start or better a full face helmet if possible.

 

boots - there r several entry level boots out on the market. places like chong aik(desker rd) chaip lee(serangoon rd) regina(jln besar) have stock of the different brands n prices 2 suit yr budget. but take note--- get a pair of thick woolen socks,calf height 1st. use it when u r trying out yr boots.

 

goggles- u can get them from the above mentioned shops 2,same with gloves.knee/shin guard.

 

dis is the basic needs 4 u now.

 

my personal equpt is helmet--shark

goggles--smith/oakley

gloves--axo

boots--oxstar

 

there r other safety equpt dat u will have 2 get s u progress but lets take it 1 step at a time. do try not 2 purchase mx stuff from the internet paralleled importers s their sole aim is 2 make money off newbies n put back nothing in2 the sport.

oops! 4got 2 answer yr question abt the different tracks!

supercross is on a smaller area with man made jumps,obstacles etc. its popular in the states where the races r held in stadiums.

 

motocross is the held on a more natural outdoor terrain. higher speeds with elevation changes n corners. jumps r more natural but 4 here the jumps r mostly man made2.

 

all said,a motocross track would be a better place 2 pick yr off road riding skills up b4 heading 4 a supercross track.

I saw someone selling KDX200 for 2k. May be not a bad choice.

hi andrei, KDX200 selling for 2k seems expensive to me. i remember it was selling less than 2k 7~8 yrs ago. (i was still a student back then, wanna get cheap bike so ask around, end up get a TZR instead of the KDX)

s a road rider,i m sure dat u understand the importance of building a relationship with the dealer! at least then,u know dat u will be getting new stuff,which can be exchange if there is a defect. there are also ppl selling their 2nd hand/used stuff which will also help u 2 lower yr start up cost. just back from business trip from vietnam

vietnam has a lot of cup kia, and the traffic is crazy.

it is amazing they seldom got into accident. driving and riding all directions...

 

anyway, went to shop see the XR200, quite low seat, suit for me. but seems like no power like that...

WR is very high, lucky i'm fat, when sit on, it will sink down quite a bit, haha... my toe still can touch the ground...

 

most of the 2nd hand wr i saw wasn't in good condition. some good one is selling quite expensive in the forum...

hi,sev. welcome back! xr 200 (plastic tank) or xlr 200 (metal tank) ? wr 200 or any other bike on the market,u have 2 juz find the rite 1. but most wr would require some work done cos the bikes so old already

welcome back. u kidding about the XR right? If u want a proper scrambler to play track (jump around a bit), u min need at least a long fork tall model scrambler. Go for the WR. power good, fc good, light and affordable.

 

XR is for transport and light trails. good luck searching.
