hi,its juz dat the bike is getting old! there weren't any entry level bike 2 replace dis model 4 a long time! emission control,bike prices n insurance cost dat went up help 2 extend the life span of the wr series!

isit??? many ppl rides dun mean got more probs le..eg..heard dat XR4 is bullet proof..once nicely done can lasts 3 years.. also many ppl use xr4 rite??

Wrong. XRs last forever, with basic periodic maintenance.

Nah, already have a monster 2 stroke Gas Gas 250. Still prefer 4 stroke powerband anytime.

 

My XR4 is in the workshop for a top overhaul. Everything still looks good, apart from the cylinder bore (badly done during previous overhaul by another shop). And that's after 2 years of motard track days/races abuse.

 

My XR250L has done more than 100,000km, and still going strong (after top overhaul last year).

 

Try that with a KTM RFS. :angel:

What's included in the 1.9K? That sounds kinda high for basic rims, spokes, hub. If it includes brand new race tires, oversized disk, rear disk, sprocket, then it sounds ok.

as mentioned if the stuff mentioned above is all there, yes,its worth it! juz make sure it the full size motard rims dat u r getting. there r some undersized rims out on the market 4 the ktm 200. with a lighter bike,be prepare 2 use the stickier dunlop alpha tyres 2.

 

racing 4 stroke! without a doubt,the honda xr/xl series engines is bullet prove. but with any 4 stroke engine,regular oil changes n t.l.c must be adhere 2. i have seen blown up xr engines due 2 the lack of or delay in getting regular servicing/checks.

 

my ride is a sxf 250 '06 model. since brand new,the bike has the valves shims change once n recently change the piston n rings. the old piston n rings were within spec but after 2 years of hard riding since it was out already juz change 4 piece of mind. engine oil change every 4 rides n oil filter every 2 oil change.

 

in fact the current level of racing 4 strokes ( all brands) r at their best now,with none of the earlier models problems!

so with all 4 stroke engines,if regular care/t.l.c is given the bikes should last a long time.

hi,sev. welcome back! xr 200 (plastic tank) or xlr 200 (metal tank) ? wr 200 or any other bike on the market,u have 2 juz find the rite 1. but most wr would require some work done cos the bikes so old already

 

welcome back. u kidding about the XR right? If u want a proper scrambler to play track (jump around a bit), u min need at least a long fork tall model scrambler. Go for the WR. power good, fc good, light and affordable.

 

XR is for transport and light trails. good luck searching.

is there even such thing as plastic or metal tank better?

 

which one will be better for thrashing ard, u noe, like wkend rides kinda stuff.

i alr gt a transport bike.

Hi Sev, I got a basement bargain DT200 to start my dirt riding experience.

 

COE left few months. so try out first and hope that COE plummets......kekekeke

 

Rest of my dough spent on body protection gear.

 

Next is applying for SMSA, MSSC membership.

just started to get the hang of it. used to riding 2b cruiser.

 

so far only on-the-road, no time to go dirt yet. but weight and power wise definitely can control and handle.

 

tried a xr400 before, like riding rodeo bull, that's why decided to get 2b scram first.
