Thailand trip for Pulsar Team

 

 

 

Date: 25th June 09 to 28th June 09

Place of Gathering : GP esso (25/06)

Time : 2130ETD (Estimate time of departure): 2200Hrs

Estimate Distance: 888Km

Traveling Speed : 110km/h

Number of Rest Stop : 12 stops

Expected traveling time : 12hrs (targeted)Expected Time of reaching THAI custom : 7-8AM 26th JUNE

Expected Time of checking into hotel : b4 12 noon

Expected time spend in Thailand Hatyai : Friday to Sun

Expected time of checking out thailand custom: SUNDAY after 2pm

Expected time of reaching Singapore : Monday Morning 2amTargeted time of traveling back to Singapore : 12hours

 

 

Important DOCUMENT to Bring

A copy of vehicle registration card is require to declare ownership of your bike before entering the kingdom of Thailand. The carbon copy of the vehicle import chit is to be well kept & must return before leaving Sadao, a penalty fee would be required if it's misplaced or failure to returned during your stay from your visit to Thai again before entry. A small endorse fee of rm1 or 20baht is payable for each passport. To avoid unneccessary delays at custom, prepared with all the above.

 

And Money

based on pulsar supreme F/C and on 1 x Full Tank (19L) = 450KM = (RM 35

Total Amount need for Petrol = RM 35 x 4 time = RM 140 (NO topping of petrol in thailand. Last topping up is in Malaysia)

 

Hotel Fees = Estimate SDG $60 per day. = 60 x 2 day = SDG $120(maybe cheaper)

 

Total amount NEEDED (must) = SDG 120 + 70 (RM 140) = SDG $190 x 20% spare = SDG 228.

 

 

Plus bring along some spare cash for enjoyment in thailand.... (BUy helmet and so)

 

Travel insurance

 

It will be best to have this extra insurance to cover ourself. I will check it out and update here.

Please ensure the bike is certifed by UM mech to ensure that the bike is in good condition to travel NOrth and back.

 

ITem to bring along (Can share among bikes)

 

2 x spark plug

1x tires repair kit

1x Light BuLb

1X Engine Oil

Guys, This trip will be tough and a test of endurance for the us. But is a achievement and a sense of satisfaction we will get when we complete this event. Going North towards Thailand in above 200 (2A & 2)cc bike is common. but going up North in a 180 & 200cc is a challenge. Not many 2B bike is willing to travel North, is lack of guts or simply the bike cannot make it ? I sure and trust that many of our fellow new 2b rider will be envy of us. and this also will prove to others that BAJAJ PULSAR is TOUGH and is able to reach Thailand and back.

 

So who are willing to take up this challenge ?

how to get UM mech to certify the bike? can anyone help me to do this? i scared they say this one must change and that one also change until i change many things and in the end, no more money to go.

if i confirm going to Thailand wif u guys, im going to change my gasket, clutch plate n disc clutch. i heard from ho heng

in jb dat i can change to honda's clutch plate der. i just need to buy d gasket frm UM n bring it to jb. any other parts

i need to take note of other than tyres? my light is sort of dim. i think its d wiring.

I willing to go la... but average travelling speed 110km/h ah??? mine p180 max travelled only 94km/h loh.... dun even know how to catch up wif u all...

NO toll is needed along NSH except the first toll we enter into malaysia.

 

Why 24th ? reason is that so we can spend sightly more time in thailand lor...

if we leave on 26th nite, we will hit thailand on sat morning.... than we onli spend one day in thailand... do not forget that, the moment we check into the hotel... most of us will K.O and sleep at least for 4 hours... meaning... we got onli less than 24 hour in thailand... no point... lOL

DO not worry on that.... i will arrange a time when we go have a basic svc done b4 going to thailand... we need to have a min check on the bike... example, brake pad, check trottle & clutch cable, check for any sign of EO leaking... adjust Idling... check chain and sprocket.... spark plug and so....

 

IMHO, worse come to worse, I think we rather spend a small amount in fixing up the bike rather than spend a big amount spending on TOW truck from thailand to singapore... rite ??

ok gd. my leave approved. so, is there any discount if i wana change parts at UM? hehehe... maybe i will go UM on the 19th, friday. how much do we need to spend approx? ok heres the list that we need most importantly:

4) passport (DUH!)

 

anything else dat im missing? we're traveling in groups so we cant maintain 110km/h all the away, up hill n down hill, so average will be around 85,90-110km/h.

bring original log card nt copy. a copy can bring along in case they wan a copy of it.

yup pump 1 full tank in my before going into thailand. it shld be able to last u. coming out the 1st petrol pump got a few there is this BHP station if i am nt wrong.
