Hebrews 12:1-4 speaks of Jesus and His enduring sufferings and it also speaks of the jews etc forgetting His finish work and what He has gone through for them.

 

Hebrews 12:5 reads "And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: "My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him"

 

In short the author is not talking about 'illegitamacy' per se, rather he is referring to 'our mindset'. If I were to paraphrase, (in singlish)

 

Ya, if you think you can do everything without Christ and not even consider what He has gone through for you as a redemptive payment for your adoption. Then clearly you are making yourself 'illegitamate' (in your own warped misconception). To God, He is your father and you are His son. Jesus is His begotten son, we are adopted sons. We void our rights by refuting this truth and gift of God but it doesn't mean God withdraw His offer, because His gifts are irrevocable (or in some translation, He doesn't change His mind).

 

The discussion before only speaks of you you and you. Whereas the verses clearly speaks of Jesus.

In summary, we are not bas_tard, no even one. But if a person thinks he is, then in his mind he is a bas_tard. The Bible says the we are all sons of God, but how we read/intepret it will affect 'our' believing. So if a person believes that he is a bas_tard and not the adopted son of God, then there will be a high chance he will behave like one.

THE Singapore Buddhist Federation said Senior Pastor Rony Tan's act of apologising was the right thing to do - for a start.

 

But it will still approach the authorities and have its voice heard in order to prevent similar incidents in future, it said last night.

 

'It is good that the authorities have looked at this matter, but this is a matter of national concern. We want to appeal to the public and the authorities to make sure there is no second time,' said the federation's secretary-general, Venerable Kwang Phing.

 

'Singapore is a multi-religious, multiracial society. There is no point arguing over who is right and who is wrong,' he added.

 

Singapore Buddhist Lodge chairman Lee Bock Guan urged restraint on the part of Buddhists so that tension does not escalate. He said: 'Buddhism teaches us to forgive; everybody makes mistakes.'

 

Singapore Taoist Federation chairman Tan Thiam Lye shared Mr Lee's view. 'If (Pastor Tan) is sincere, we accept his apology, and hope this sort of thing does not happen again,' he said.

Is it enough to be scriptural? Just because it is in the Bible does not always mean it is for our obedience. One must be dispensational in their theology and understanding of the Word of God.

I got a idea..during Penyabong trip , when we rest on the green pastures besides d beach , we can den watch d goats, sheeps , lambs ,dogs ther..

 

Then we can hav a open field discusiions on sheep, goat, deer, gazelle, roebuck, ibex, antelope, tiger, lion .... etc

Dispensationalism is rightly dividing the word of truth. 2Timothy 2:15 says, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

 

For those that can't figure this out ... buy gopher wood and build your own ark
