Hey wanna do a ride to JB Children home on the 8 Dec? Its Haji holiday, Mon. Lu said got a new custom at JB opening today, hope will smooth the jam, otherwise we take 2nd link lor.

Visit the JB Orphanage on next Monday, 8th Dec (public holiday).

 

Option 1

Enter JB by Tuas side, meet up at GP

esso at 10am. Proceed to Bukit Indah (Old Town Coffee

Shop) for lunch. Then reach the JB Orphanage at 1pm.

 

1-2pm: Mixing with the kids, talking to them about

Christ, playing games with them - breaking the ice.

 

2-3pm: Praise & worship time; singing children

christian songs.

 

3-4pm: Scripture memory contest. I have already

bought prizes for this. But depending on availability

of volunteer bikers & Pastor Raymond's permission, we

might give the top 5 or XXX winners a dinner treat

somewhere. Depending on number of bikes available.

 

4-6pm Those kids who are very outstanding in scripture memory , reward is bring them to Lam seafood near Perling. Alternatively, dinner buffet in either nearby Hyatt hotel or jb's Pan Pacific hotel. Very value for money & safe parking.

But on a serious note, evangelism does not necessary mean that we need to be preaching all the time.

 

By living the way that God wants us to live our life is also a way of planting seeds or shining like a light for God.

 

Also, as mentioned in the previous posts... First step to be +ve... hang out with people who are +ve.

Here's the example I am setting for my family to follow. I have been trying to be head of the family (spiritual head) & example makes more impact than mere speech.

 

I have been visiting a ex-convict who is staying in Teen Challenge home in old choa chu kang road once per week. I met this guy when i was walking out of my sunday service. He told me he did not have meal for 2 days. I bought him lunch at kopi tiam nearby. I ask him have he heard of Christ, he said yes, during his stay in prison. I did not want to ask him about what crime he commit, just listen to his problems & tell him about Jesus at every opportunities. His brothers do not want him back at their homes, his parents has passed away, he is basically homeless.

 

So I buy him EZ link card & give him enough money to buy meals every day & advised him to seek his ex-prison counseller to get placed in Teen Challenge half way house.

 

Each time i see him at Teen challenge, i ask Holy spirit for wisdom to speak to him & I can see that this guy being transform slowly. He is learning to pray & 2 days ago, I challenged him to memorize Lord's prayer.

 

There 's nothing else in teen challenge for him to do, except to immerse in God's stuffs. Each time we speaks, its nothing but christian stuff & I feel so anointed & happy that I can be counted worthy to do God's work for Him.

 

The other thing I am doing is starting a christian fellowship in my workplace. A group of us, started this fast & pray lunch fellowship every monday recently. Our objective was to uphold & uplift fellow weaker christians in my workplace against lurking trials & temptations within our working environment. It is our 3rd week already & each time we really feel annointed & uplifted through our sharings & fellowship. I can feel our Father God is going to bless my company Sembcorp already.

 

Let's continue to be zealous servants & faithful sons & daughters of the highest living God. Let's gather riches in heaven rather than earthly treasures. Let's become the salt & light of this world.

 

Let's praise Him here again.

THE assertion by actress Ok So Ri reported last Saturday ('Actress in adulterous case faces jail term') that the denial of the right to commit adultery was 'an infringement of human rights' took my mind back to the hilarious report of an embarrassment suffered by the Christian Church when its attention was drawn to a misprint in a large number of copies of the Swedish edition of the Bible, in which one of the Ten Commandments read, 'Thou shalt commit adultery', without the vital 'not'. By the time the misprint was discovered, it was too late to recall the copies, a large number of which had already been sold.

 

A newsman investigating the impact on the large number of readers of this edition reported their sense of relief that what they had been doing had biblical sanction. It is possible this commandment in the Swedish edition has been followed with implicit obedience by Ok.

 

Since what the audacious actress said has already been reported, there should be no objection to printing this letter.

10-11am Eat famous sambal roti prata & teh tarik at kopi tiam near pelangi mall.

11am-12pm Berkat orphanage mixing with kids & knowing them.

 

12.00-2pm Bring kids to bukit indah for lunch - if we have enough bikers.

12.00-2pm Sponsor the kids KFC or mcDonald - if we dun have enough bikers. We'll tar pau the KFC at pelangi before coming to the orpanage.

Couple go on sedition trial

They are accused of distributing offensive publications to 3 people

A CHRISTIAN couple are on trial for sedition, facing charges of distributing publications that are seditious and objectionable to three Muslims.

 

SingTel technical officer Ong Kian Cheong, 49, and his wife, Dorothy Chan Hien Leng, 45, an associate director with UBS, are alleged to have distributed a seditious publication to two men, and an objectionable publication to a woman, between March and December last year.

They were arrested on Jan 30 this year.

 

A police ambush party had seen Ong dropping off a stack of envelopes at a mailbox outside SingTel Comcentre in Exeter Road that morning. SingPost was asked to open the mailbox and 22 brown envelopes were recovered. Ong later admitted that he had posted them.

 

More items were found in his car and his Maplewoods condominium home, including laptops and four boxes of comic tracts with different titles.

 

His wife was arrested that afternoon. The couple were produced in court in April and their trial began yesterday.

 

A prosecution witness, Traffic Police staff sergeant Irwan Ariffin, 32, who received an evangelistic booklet titled The Little Bride by post, told District Judge Roy Neighbour that he made a police report after reading it on Oct 19 last year.

 

He felt that the booklet of comics appeared to condemn his Islamic faith. He found some of the dialogue to be disrespectful towards a religion.

 

He told the court that in his opinion, whatever faith one professes, one should not criticise or condemn another religion.

 

He felt the booklet's contents could have easily sparked religious disagreements between Muslims and Christians.

 

The couple's lawyer Selva K. Naidu offered his clients' apologies for hurting Mr Irwan's feelings. But the witness said the damage had been done and any apology should not be made to him alone.

 

Assistant administrator Isa Raffee, 35, told the court that he received the booklet, Who Is Allah?, in his mailbox last December. Going through it, he found 10 instances which were offensive to Muslims.

 

Mr Isa told the court that he felt anger that turned into disbelief, shock and sadness. 'There is nothing wrong in promoting one's religion but it is unacceptable when the person promotes his religion and offends other religions,' he said.

 

He told the court that he believed that the publication was intended to provoke or incite religious and racial hatred as well as convert Muslims to Christians.

 

When Mr Naidu offered the same apology to him, the father of three said he would accept the apology, but it would be hard to forget what had happened.

 

He agreed with the lawyer that although he had been hurt by the words in the publication, they did not make him feel hostile towards anybody. 'We Muslims in Singapore are able to think rationally and we do not let our feelings make us do undesirable acts,' he said.

 

He said he had seen how Muslims worldwide had been affected after the Danish media published cartoons about Islam. 'We do not want such things to happen in Singapore,' he said.

 

Mr Isa said he had grown up with Christian neighbours and had invited them home for lunch. Some of his army officers were devout Christians as well, and they were 'nice people'.

 

But he added: 'Again, I must emphasise that offending one's religion is unacceptable and dangerous.'
