5w50 is reccomended in the newer mito (6-gear owner's manual).

15w50 is reccomended in the older mito (7-gear owner's manual)

it makes alot of difference of that1 gear diff~

there are light to heavy gear oils. wonder which onew should i use.

quite reluctant to do friction modifiers.

wowee! bro, care to reveal where? hehe... was quoted $200+ plus labour for changing the plates at rw... and my engine oso sounds less noisy than the vid too... and bout the disconnecting the single yellow connector from the cts servor motor to de restrict it, dun do it!

heheh... tried it & was watching the cts valve while reving the engine... the valve wun move at all! in fact it'll be forced open & stayed dat way if the rpm's high enough. connected back & the cts functioned normally, opening ard 6900rpm... :cheer:

so seemed the yellow wire carries instruction signal to when to open the valve on the specified rpm.

Wow.... That's quite expensive.

But I guess the beauty of a Mito comes with a price.

Clutch plates for Aprilia are only S$90. And its so simple to change the clutch plates it usually takes me 2hr for a change, including a cursory rinse of whole area and parts with solvents, pre-soaking the clutch plates in gear oil, and an oil-less sealing of clutch housing with gasket and gasket gum.

But at least at a price of $200 you dont have to lift a finger to do anything. You keep your hands clean, dont have to worry about the transfer of dirt, gunk and sand from external environment into the clean clutch case, and of course, I'm sure for that kind of money you're paying you'll be getting a fantastic job of having the rim of the clutch housing cleaned and sanded to have a perfect seal with the gasket!

I have to worry about all that when I change my own clutch!!

That's what cheapskate people like me do... DIY overhaul, brake bleeding, tyre change, clutch change, brake pad change, carburettor jetting and tuning, plug chops etc.... Unless lazy then I go mechanic

You Mito riders have it so easy for you... Everything just pay and its done. For me I can trust only myself to do it.... Coz I believe no one will take care of your bike like you will, and also coz I'm kind of a cheapskate.... hee hee

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

changed my gear oil to 15w40.

i tried from 5 to 15 already, still not very happy with the shifting, though now the smoothest, but still have the same prob when downshifting. dunno whether wan to do like a race style modifier, or change harder clutch springs.

maybe my clutch adjusted too far? 15w40 is reccomended in the 7gear manual.

I was considering selling my Mito. I realised something. I don't even have the chance to use the bike. The bike spends more time stationary than even moving. But I don't know if I should sell it like my mom ask me to.

Does anyone encounter this? Damp black liquid coming out of exhaust? My number plate is always stained by those black liquid droplets from the exhaust after travelling in expressways.

Not 2T pump, because the intake is set to be quite minimal

Not exhaust, because i just decarbonise it not long ago.

What could it be? I just noticed some black soot collecting near my engine block :giddy: :giddy:

My posting results are this friday. If I go Sispec or OCS then good game. Weekends will probably be too tired to even ride out, and my dad will just pick me up from camp and sent me to camp, don't have to worry about going to camp from the East side. It's a pity that I just changed the Valve, Starter Motor, Spocket & Chain, but what's the use, I don't have a chance to use it. :sian: Might as well sell it to someone who dreams of riding the bike and I can fulfil his dream. I can take Public Transport till I go Uni.

Yup, depends where you get posted too. Esp if you ride a mito. It's recommended to start/warm the bike once every 3 days. Ask your dad to start for you la lol.

Depending on posting, it's always the course period you won't be able to ride that often, but after you pass out to unit its different.:cheeky:

The bad part is got people "play" with my bike before at the carpark while I was away. Now the bike is at my Auntie's Private Housing. My bike cover came off when I return. And at another time, got 2 guys were touching my bike even before I was like 30m away.

Yup that's life when riding a Mito. Whereever you ride, be it at the stop lights or passing a bus stop/pedestrian crossing always got pple staring at the bike for no whatsoever reason. Park outside also got pple see/touch.

No problems at my home, very few riders there.
