Mitos are average on a straight line, but it's different around corners. It's like whether you want a bike with a good straight line speed or a good all rounder. Also rider's skill plays a very important role too.

I think that people say that mito is the best 2B bike not only because of the speed.

 

I think mito is the best because of the speed, the handling, the safety (as in, won't fishtail cos got stock damper), and the style. Plus the fact that it's Italian.

 

Aprilia is the best because of pretty much the same reasons except that it has a different style and is more for cornering.

 

SP and kawa is the best because they're light and cheap and fast. (okay, so I don't know much about japanese bikes)

 

TZM is the best because of the speed.

 

Cubs are the best because they're fuel economic and the parts are easy to get.

 

Phantoms are the best because they provide a very relaxed riding posture.

 

Everybody's bike is also the best.

 

And by the way, an italian and a cub has the same cc. Does that mean they're both the same?

Hahaha no offence but to me the stock damper is crap. Its more of a show than actual usage. Try an ohlins on and you will see world of difference.

is it? are ohlins legal? but doesn't matter anyway cuz road blocks doesn't really check, right?

Yup agreed. The stock damper on my bike is very flimsly, once i can actually yank the whole thing out :giddy: . Luckily I've tightened it with a much larger screw/nut.

Its not considered illegal modification. You can fix it. But you wouldnt want to waste 700+ just on a steering damper for a small bike. The bike's handling good enough and you dont have big power for the bike to tank slap.

I do agree with the fact that the stock damper is not that good (anyway, all stock damper on any other models sucks too, not just mito alone). What u guys need is any other brands of damper, not just Ohlins, as long as u can tighten it (or loosen) it to your riding preference, it works just as fine. U dun have to invest in an Ohlins, other brands like Sprint, Bitubo, Hyper pro and Etc will do.... Even a 2nd hand one will do, as long as it is functioning properly. But not Daytona..... My 2 cents worth....

Yeah my damper also not very useful...

 

in fact on a 9 year old bike, the damper is already useless....

 

Has anyone actually tried replacing the damper with another one on the Mito...

Yup i did with an ohlins. Not worth the money. Under utilised the thing so i sold it off.

dont think i wil b sellng off m bike already cause like very wasted.Juz ovrhaul with new iston n block n tuch up the painwork alredy unless someone offer me something tat is very tempting "but know it wot happen lar".haha..Will join guyz for outing soon but not on the 13th cause overseas..

there is a significant diff between a 125cc and a 150cc bike, a diff of almost 20% in cc. since the hp is limited, any tiny increase in power or efficiency is very noticable!

ppl can say since there's juz a small diff of 25cc so there should not be much diff in power, y not they try their 150cc bike against the 175cc big bored mito/aprilia? in this case is it fair in power comparison between the two?

wad i can say is the power delivery of a 125cc be4 the valve opens, really sucks. the 150cc feels so much more smoother & powerful. but when the valve opens at high rev, the power surge between the two feels pretty much the same, if both are tuned correctly wit same setup components/ in stock setup.

our bike 7th gear not very useful...infact if you are travelling at your 7th gear and at 9500 rpm, i would like to know what speed you were running at?

 

cos if you ride like that everyday one our roads, you are consuming alot more petrol than you should...

 

not very economical and it adds up to the cost of your bike.
