Thanks for the replies, so I should keep the cardio low for a bit, and do more weight training, got it!

As for protein intake I wish to stick to the "natural" path for a while, what is a good protein rich food?

1) red meat (beef)

2) Egg whites

3) fish?

Cheers

all not just beef... deer, venison, ostrich all red meat in fact better than beef cause lower in fat content..

egg whites and fish is another option... if you do not want to get bored of what you eat everyday have variety... protein food includes soy bean and most nuts.. but if you are really into building nature is not good enough..

even for me, i take protein shake every day for breakfast only.. when i was on "clean" diet, i take it 3 times a day with only home cooked meat and veg with no oil, salt or sugar added... and fruits inbetween meals... for me as a female, i only need 3 full meals... for guys it will be good if you can have 5 - 6 meals a day home cooked.. ;) as cybernation how he built up when he was young...

Time for steroids liao. Kidding. When you are stuck in a rut, then either change your training patterns and exercises or take a break from the gym for about 2 weeks. Once you come back, your body will respond better after the long break... :goodluck:

You can get those chicken fillets that are sold at the supermarket. If you want to be economical, just buy a whole chicken, have it cut into 8 parts and throw away the skin. Steam the chicken parts and have that throughout the day...

Damn, I hate steamed chicken. Anyway, I cannot take it, just bought myself 2lb of protein powder. I will give it a try first. My main goal is to have man boobs by the end of the month! Haha, just kidding.

ok, my recipe for a safe surefire bulk- go get weider mega mass 2000(one tub not enuff-must buy the big sack),

take 4 5 scoops, 1to 2 scoops of ice cream(your choice of flavors), 2 cups of milk, some water, throw them in the blender, mix well and drink. drink this 2 3 times a day on top of your meal and see what happen 6 to 8 weeks.

generally, got to eat eat eat everything and alot. train heavy heavy and rest.

*disclaimer-your milage may varies. not everybody are the same.

I keep hearing this from body builders, what is a loading phase? Is it the time where you increase body mass through eating alot of proteins?

You can grilled them in an oven. you're not cutting up and loosing weight so don't worry about the bit of fats around or how you cook it.

it's better to take your nutrients from natural foods rather than supplements.

Sad thing happened today, made the most "rookie" mistake today, I forgot to warm up before my run, pulled a muscle, going to be out of action for a bit, think I can only work on my upper body for a while.

Cheers

There are different kinds of loading phase. There's carbo loading, creatine loading, etc. Basically loading phase is taking more of the creatine or food to get your muscles saturated with creatine or to get your body to look fuller respectively...

How do you warm up? Stretching only or a slow jog plus stretching?

Stretching, after that a short brisk walk or jog for a lap or so.

Hmmm, to load on creatine, what is the reccomended dosage? 15 pills a day?

Cheers

Pills, I've no idea cos I prefer the powder form where you make it into a drink. Can taste and feel the difference. I tried those creatine capsules type before but don't feel the effect at all. Best that you read and follow the recommended dosage on the bottle itself... :goodluck:

 hey, u are rite, i have the exact same problem as u, i dun like powders cos they cannot disolve & form sticky lumps, until very hard to drink. But maybe nowadays protein powders have improve. Maybe they can disolve easily  maybe aie or cybernation can advise on this?

I normally at more water and stir to dissolve the lumps. Don't add milk 'cos it'll make the mixture thicker

for powders, use blender the best.

if use shaker-add a bit more water and some ice cubes, shake vigorously. good workout for hand. nowadays these powders are easily mixed and have a great taste. those days, powders sucks, use blender until burn and you still see the lumps. and they taste like medicine.o_O

You need to get those shakers that have an added plastic netting like in this picture.

My protein and creatine powders have no problems dissolving with a few quick shakes of the container... :thumb:

The brand of protein that I encounter problems like the ones you described is Twinlab. Even when I tried to dissolve it using a blender, the mixture will turn out to be like a chalky paste and the taste sucks big time. Optimum Pro Complex protein is the brand of protein that dissolves most easily in my opinion... :thumb:

Ya i was abt to say this kind of shakers is good b'cos it comes with a net fix at the top. GNC sell it for abt $10-$11. Blender is troublesome & need to fix up, wash & waste electricity.:cheeky:
