thx, i did ..using castrol activ 20w-40 and changed my oil filter too...base on the previous post i read earlier..next oil change is another 500km right ...can it be like 800 or 1k?

I won't repeat again. Following here i copy and paste the abv mention.

Run in procedures.

1st engine oil(factory one) - 500km mileage to travel not more than 60km/h after reach 500km change MINERAL engine oil.

2nd engine oil (mineral one) - another 500km mileage to travel not more than 60km/h after reach 500km change. Your total mileage would be 1000km by now.

3rd engine oil (mineral one) - another 500km mileage to travel not more than 80km/h after reach 500km change. Your total mileage now would be 1500km.

Now you have FINISH the engine run in procedure already. This is the 4th engine oil change you may change ANY (mineral, semi-synthetic, fully-synthetic) engine oil. So many newbie question is which engine oil good? Well this is up to individual preferences and individual pockets. However according to our manual it should be at least an API SF minimum. Viscosity recommended is minimum 20W40 or 20w50 maximum. Any viscosity abv 20w50 is NOT recommended eg. like 10W60 or 20W60. Yes i have read the whole manual of this bike.

After your 4th engine oil change you may change accordingly.

Fully synthetic(1500km - 2000km)

Semi synthetic(900km - 1200km)

Mineral(500km - 800km)

Or you may also change the engine oil when you feel the engine is rough and noisy when you riding it. The abv GUIDE is just a guidance for your periodal engine oil change.

Usually MINERAL Engine oil does not last in mileage. Around 450km u can feel the oil is sheared already. Mineral oil is cheap la bro. Usually Oil + filter abt $20 only. Just change it to prevent the engine from damaging. Once damage too late liao. Down engine? That will be a few hundred dollars sir. You want to come out $20 or few hundred dollars. It's your choice.

If u keep to changing the oil and oil filter for the 1st 3 times 500km should be ok. Most to most the wear is not uniform only. The manual one is for after the runin period bro. You want to follow which one is your wish bro. If engine spoilt or your exhaust come out visible smoke then good luck to you.

I did try Castrol Activ 20W50 once only and don't like it. When I was running in last time i used AGIP Classic SAE40 for 500km. Trust me it is far better than Castrol Activ 20W50.

This one is up to individual preference bro.

Some pple prefer hard run in.

Some pple prefer soft run in.

Some pple prefer no need run in.

As for me? Buy bike so expensive already? So I like my bike and sayang. So i care for my bike more.

As the guide above is just a guidance for those who love their bike more. If u don't want to run in your bike also can, it's your ride bro.

Happy riding.

i 'ran in' my bike.

1st 200KM, factory EO,

200-800KM, Mineral EO

800-1800KM Factory EO & 1st Servicing @800KM

and 1st servicing at HL is basically a change of EO, oil filter, top up coolant liquid.. pretty basic stuff. Btw, need to book servicing at Hong Leong, at least 2 weeks in advance.

Going for my 3rd servicing, supposedly more comprehensive servicing in Aug. would have reached 7500km by then.

Abt the EO change interval, what RxzDelux said can be used as a guide. although I've read from other places saying synthetic can last 5000km, semi-synth 3000km. supposedly. Dunno, I'd change when it gets rough.

Anyway it great bike a little vibration it normal right? And here a little thing that I notice about the brake light, when I brake using my leg no light but when using hand braking that is so reach home I check the leg brake no wire lagi confused hahaha.now waiting for full running in so that can test how strong is the bike.thank you

I just changed engine oil just now DIY. My last engine oil lasted me 1110km and its a semi synthetic. The used oil is black in color already. Another trick when to change the engine oil is to check the dipstick. Put the bike on main stand. Screw out the dipstick and clean with a clean cloth. Dip in the engine without screwing in and check. Mine just now until No engine oil on the dipstick already. Then I know its time to change with new fresh oil.

Bros, I am a relatively new member to this forum. I have been reading the posts on this thread and done my homework to find out more about fz150i on the internet.

It does look like a decent motorcycle with more advance technology compared to fz16 which is ironically the latest model from yahama.

I just got my driving license about 2 months ago and I need some advice from you all. :)

1. I would like to ask which dealers you bought your bikes from? I have called hong leong and they quoted me 7.2k without insurance. coe is assumed to be around 2.2k if I heard correctly from the dealer. Is this an okay deal?

2. I will be traveling on the expressway a lot, so do you see any concern on that with regards to the bike? Good comments are welcome too:)

I am planning to get this model after comparing other naked bike models like fz16 and cbf150. So if the purchase does happen, I hope I can join you all in this thread.

I personally found that the rear wheel is too small. When I am traveling in Expressway and/or wet roads, the rear wheel tends to skid easily. I am not sure whether changing to a good quality wheel (without changing the size) will solve the problem. Just handle with care.

Hi bro. The sizing actually fits just nice. I am using oversize tyres for my fz150i. My front is 90/80 and my back is 100/80. Not to my liking though. It bring the bike higher cause of the bigger size rear tyre. One more thing is that it is under utilize. I can see the line at the sides of the tyre. For next change i maybe revert back to the original size which is front 80/90 and back 90/80.

Stock tyres are real lousy tyres la. Go and change it. It will solve your problem. Mine I immediately change it when I bought this bike from the shop.

ANSWER : I bought my bike from HL Cycle in Kaki Bukit in year 2009. Ya now COE is ard that price. If you think u using this bike real long time I think it is ok.

2. I will be traveling on the expressway a lot, so do you see any concern on that with regards to the bike?

ANSWER : No Problem la. Only that if stock condition you can have 120km/h-130km/h max. If you like faster then get Class 2A or Class 2 and ride a Bigger bike with more Horsepower. As for me I think that speed is sufficient for singapore and city riding.

You can check with Bike Production or HL Cycle for their prices on the FZ150i. Somewhere on this forum, HL Cycle has put up their machine price for the FZ150i.

Like the rest have said, stock tires are dubious. Everytime it rains, I'm a bit more scared to ride.
