i jus poured in liao. lets see the result next time when i ride the bike lah

u pour in water? is your coolant premix or concentrated?

The leak you descibed is probably overflow from the reserve tank. Have you checked the reservoir level after it leaked?

Hi, any 1 here have any ideas Ver S Radiator is made of Aluminum or copper?

Heard Aluminum Made radiator cannot be repair whereas Copper can be repaired

Becos my radiator had been leaking coolant out few days ago. Thought i had top up too much n leaking out due to boiling is normal but went to 1 bikeshop n he told me its the radiator 'tang ke' crack liao. its leaking from the center of the wire mesh ( small leaking ). But he told mi some radiator is beyond repair 1.

Call to 1 of the radiator repair shop and he ask mi to check myself whether ours radiator is made of what material?

Its is difficult to take out the radiator ourself? Think i dun want to be chop by motorshop ( change radiator very expensive ), so decide to do everything myself.

Hope ppl here can gif mi more info abt radiator or any 1 here have had their radiator fixed before?

For modern motorcyce, the radiator is made of aluminium. Try URS radiator service at UBI, I recon my bandit radiator there for $150.

I can't see how big is the crack, because its at the fins even the radiator sealer doesn;t work. To have an idea how fast it leaks, I have to stop and top up the radiator with water every 0.5 hour of riding. its leaks when its hot.

The shop wont take out the radiator for you, you got to do it yourself. No flushing of radiator or top up of coolant service as well because its not a motorshop.

How they recon my radiator, they cut off all the old flow passage(fins) and weld new one on the radiator bracket, because diff bike have different mount mah.

The recon radiator look and work like a new radiator, I have no complaints abt it, btw a brand new radiator cost $700. And no point to get a used one, you wont know when it will fail.

Thanks!...will bring it to the 1 of those radiator shop n check it out...

By the way...i am riding a VerS...so not easy to top up the water thru the radiator cap....& frequent check the reserve coolant tank but onli small amt of coolant lost ( maybe leaking in the radiator that cos the sucking to be weak )...

So i guess top up the reserve tank also no use?

Ver S runs on air cool or water cool? Cos Is it safe to carry on riding to the shop?

Duno if the leakage will do more damage to my bike ?

Super 4 is water and air cooled. Btw its not easy to top up the bandit radiator also, I stopped by some housing estate, strip fuel tank open radiator cap and top up half way.

If you leak is not serious, top up your radiator first before you move out should be ok.

Went to the radiator shop and the ppl there tell mi super4 radiator is made of aluminium...so cannot be repair even the smallest crack. He then offer mi 1 of their self made radiator that look like ours type!...But the different is that it is made of copper / brass ( can be repair type n abit more heavy ) He took my existing 1 n dismantle all the bracket + spraying black

total cost = $160

Check with the shop & found out alot of european cars uses copper radiator & even bandits also...

Duno if its a gd deals but just riding back home & found nothing wrong ( leaking ) yet....

Juz got my version S two days back. 1st day, when i rode for about 20mins, after off engine, I can hear like water boiling from the engine. Been happening twice already.

Another thing is, after every ride, I can sense a burning smell from the engine too. Btw, I asked Ah Chong of planet, but he said the smell cause my engine casing has all been re-sprayed, so this could be one of the cause. But I never asked him about the boiling noise.

Any forumers can assist what cause these problem?

Really cant have a peace of mind now.

Something not right with your coolant level maybe. The red dot "Temp" got light up when you ride? Before you crank your engine its on, after crank and while riding it should be off.

Speed is not important at all, what it matters is the skill of riding safely and treasuring your own life in your own hands.

The temp dot never light up.Even when I juz on the ignition, or after engine running, it never light up at all.
