Dvr camera date/time setting

Hey everyone,

Here I am after much contemplation of getting a DVR cam, decided to order from Qoo10. I got me a great looking dual lens camera with front and back lens.

After getting getting the cam, I tried using it. Videos are great BUTTTTT, I am unable to change the date and time. What a bum. Tried contacting the seller. Zero, zero help.

I youtube for any help to change the date and time. While lots of info about other cam, none for this model.

Am writing if anyone has any info . Thanks

I don't have this particular cam. But I do have another made-in-China "brandless" cam. It didn't come with clear instructions too, but after googlling around, this worked for me:

 

1) Create a file called "time.txt" in the main folder of the micro-SD card.

2) Enter the date and time in the text file using the following format: "2014.07.09 16:20:00N" (without the inverted commas, of course)

3) Eject card from computer and insert into camera.

4) Turn on camera and the date and time will be updated.

 

I *DON'T KNOW* if this will work for yours. But no harm trying. A lot of MIC products share the same chip and firmwares.

Thanks LKM. Believe me I have done all kind of iteration. with N or Y lah, with with month 08 or 8 . I also ordered another camera "bullet-shaped" cam. same problem. followed the youtube instruction to the letter. nothing comes out of it.

i will try your method. cant remember if i have tried yours or not because i dont remember the date i put / but like you said. no harm. good luck
