HDB parking gantry

Hello everybody,

I am staying around Bukit Batok. Whenever I travel around my area, I always have problem with the gantry. Not only within my parking blocks but other blocks in Bukit Batok. I also noticed many other vehicles also have the same problem.

Some people say, its how we place our machines. I have tried near, far, within the box my bike but its so erratic. Even when I drive my car, I have the same problem. Its very frustrating.

Then when I ride my bike to work around town area and park at a HDB, not much problem at all.

Can I know if any riders from other towns who have the same problem.

The gantries are pretty much made and installed by different companies with different standards. Some places are okay for me, like newer buildings in town, and the gantry at my home that just went up like 2 months ago. Older places like AMK, a bit more hit and miss and take a bit of wiggling the bike around to scan.

 

Can't do much about it other than suck thumb, climb the curb and go around. Or call attendant to lift the gantry.

I think you have to approach the gantry slowly.... I have approached it quite fast and brake at the last minute a few times and the display shows 'no IU detected'... have to reverse then ok... now, every time I approached it slowly and everything ok...

 

Another thing to note is.... is your IU wired direct to your battery?... that is, always on.... if it is then should be ok.... I had mine wired through the ignition switch, and I just start the bike and move off immediately, abet slowly.... the IU do not have time to 'boot up fully', and the gantry did not detect the IU.... now, I start the bike, then wear helmet and gloves and slowly move off, everything ok since then.... I still using the old type of IU on my DN-01....

Nope RT. my iu is new and it is connected directly to battery. i have tried many permutation, still problem. even my car also. many other cars and vehicles too.

reize, thanks. i know many companies handle different town council. but ultimately its HDB responsibility.they should handle it.

This is not HDB's problem, it's Town Council's problem. HDB builds the flats themselves, the amenities are managed by the TC.

 

Maybe should write in to your town council and let them know. The TC people won't know about the problem until you tell them. Works better if you can get as many of your neighbours to write in. The more complain the more they notice.

I usually stop where the bike is painted on the floor, right on top of it. Never had a problem.

Go slow and stay I'm the designated area. It should work.

I have the same problem at my work place carpark... one biker bro approached me, ask me to try to remove the stickers fm my IU unit.. it works! apparently the carpark sensor have difficulty penetrating the stickers.. weird but it works after I peel the stickers off

Honestly, if majority of people have problem then it shouldnt be your problem. It's the gantries fault. I have such issues too so just press the button like any helpless guy at the gantry and it will magically open XD haha.

which part of bukit batok? i stay in the area but dont have a problem.
