Your first 1000km.

Like for example.

First 500 do not rev more than 7

Change engine oil only, mineral oil

Then before 1000 not more than 8 or 9

Change engine oil + filter

After which you can have full syn or half syn engine oil.

Major service at.. if im not wrong 5000?

All this are in the period where you will be going in to servicing.

'rev' = revving.

The numbers I've talk about are about the 'rpm' on your tachometer.

Now now. If you rev more than the level that I was talking about, nothing much will change. But do note that the bike, especially the engine was build first and stow away in a warehouse. Everything new will have some form of particle and it's called 'engine dust' that derive from the cutting and moulding of your engine compartment. New engine will have some rough edges.. etc.. etc.

Hence when you rev too much, the engine might not have the suitable environment to mix well with the engine oil and lube it properly. Revving too much however will cause some form of defect on your new engine since gears in the gearbox and piston are all in constant direct contact and meshing.

Engine oil, also called 'black oil' comes in many form. Mineral oil, 1/2 synthetic, fully synthetic. Like wise for common use, high performance and racing kinda thing.

So when it was time for servicing, you will have various things to do. And of course, if you are darn kiasu or something.. You can always change your spark plug, change engine oil, coolant water, blah blah blah.. which is good! What is bad about washing your pet's cage everyday? Good right? BUT! It comes with cost of cause unless you and your bike is under sponsor like those racer la..

Certain mileage clock demand certain servicing.

It starts with 500km, then 1000km, 2000km.. 5000km.. such. No standard template, up to recommendation and advise from workshop or experienced riders.

Changing of all those stuff can be done either by self, your own workshop (need not be the place you buy your bike from) or back to your dealer.

Friend, I must say you're not fully prepared enough to own a bike man. I wish you best of luck :)

ps. You need to clarify with many more others on what I've said since I myself do not own a bike :)

Ironic? Yes :D

Oh no! Please! I'm not pissed or what. I'm just... taken aback how you are going to ride something that you probably need a little head knowledge. After all, you know its not a toy or something :)

And you gotta take good care of it if you're looking at fetching some price sometime later when you upgrade to higher ccs.

Cheers~~

You prob can ask Mr Lee to advice you on the servicing side of the story. The rest of the riding must really go by experience and see how other rider's take care of their ride.

You and I are all learners :)

Hahas. Ok but I don't have data plan so it's hard. I will try to explore slowly lo. Btw when I get my bike. Do I need to head for petrol station and pump it up to full tank?
