My vtec1 speedo stays at 20kmh wen e bike cums 2 stationary.

Wen i throtle bit by bit, then e needle drops bit by bit, may not drop to 0kmh.

Wen travelling at 80kmh, e needle jumps like hell, quite hard to reach 100kmh.

Then at 100kmh, e needle stucks there.

Any1 noes wats e probm?

Or wats e price of a new vtec 1 meter?(jus wondering)

Have you check your Speedometer cable?..the one that runs from under it to your wheel? If your cable is not faulty, its either the circuitry board or the needle pick up coil damage..and this usually happened when you have impact the meter when your bike dropped. Anyway..the coil part comes as a set with the silk screen meter plate and if its the circuit board, you can just get that..but you have to know how to dismantle your meter to get access to it.

Good luck.

my speedo meter black cover opened up after self-skidded.... when can i get it replaced???

"Where" you meant..I believe you can get the parts yourself and have it replaced. The meter are made up og many components and they can be gotten seperately. Try Chong Aik or Ever Success..but do compare price first. If you find what you want...tell LAB..he can get you original also..much cheaper..just tell him from where he can get it.

Wah!..that's on the high side. You did not mention what model is your bike but if its a non Vtec..and we are talking about the conica shape outer shrome look plastic cover..one piece is is $55 to $60 and if chiong_one, you can get from LAB at $10 a piece.

I don't see anything much to do when things happened on the speedometer side unless its the rpm meter (got two electronic component circuit board inside)..and normally there won't be any serious damage unless your inner shell cover (big matted white or semi grey in colour housing both meter as a piece) is impact shattered..but again..speedo side..mostly small gears assembly.

But at $240..if the inner housing is changed as a new part..that may caused another may be less than $100 or so. One best place to check out prices is "Ever Success"..which is on the high end side which you can take as a reference. When mechanic get replacement part from spare part shop..normally there discount for profit margin is 5% to 25% without GST.

woah... you scare mi... i tot i kana chop...

Forgot to asked...may be kerna chop...heee...x2!...okay..what is the total overall mileage clocking reading..a new one should be almost "0"..if some reading...could be a second hand one...if the same as you last send in...than you kerna chop_chop!..meaning, the assembly wasn't changed.

price for crashbar, front signal and balancer(heaviest)??? should i go LAB or MW???

LAB is always much cheaper but also cheaper in quality somewhat. MW carried better stuff lah...but you can always asked for better quality stuff as most of the time he can get also.

Crash bar..local cheap one can olehdee lah...about $45 to $75 a set. Very tough good one crashed also Koyak!

Front signal light..chiong one about $20 a pair..LAB...$18 can get...but the plastic very flimsy..careful when you tighten the screws. Original about $45 a piece I think..do check the forums out here. I think there is a section here that has parts and pricing for ref. Why not change to LED ones?

Balancer?...I'm using original PB1..cannot play play one leh...but neighbours here paid for very heavy solid one(like polished metal) at $35 to $55 a piece.

Best to get from LAB la for al this kind of stuff..but not performance parts.:sian: Good luck...

Change my meter bulb to 4SMD T10 Bulbs (white) for my s4 bold'or..

Nice! I am riding a bol dor too, thinking of changing the bulbs to white. But I notice the top portion is brighter that the sides, why didn't you go for the 360 degree 6smt LED bulb? How do you take out the meter to access the bulbs anyway? By removing the windshield? 2 bulbs needed for the 2 meters right? How come the tripometer and fuel/time meter turn blue when using white bulbs?

I see, now with your other pic it make more sense. Anyway I thought you bought it from one of the sellers here. The blue is very nice, if only the light is more even rather than just the top. Thanks for answering my queries bro! :)

i'm using nite breaker. no regrets. Its high beam on NSH at nite can fight with my ex k7 high beam [H9 bulb]. can c further compare to H4, H7 diamond vision cos its not so white.

I'm using osram silverstar, good enough for my late night trips on NSHW to KL and the trunk roads between batu pahat and muar. Wanted to get the nightbreaker ones, but that time got no stock. Would recommend both osram ones.. :)

though the Night Breaker promises 90% more light and 10% more whiter,

the light output given is still orangy but still whiter as compared to Silverstar,

which is complying to standards for OEM bulbs...

:thumb:

i'm currently using Silverstar...

after 2 weeks, i'll switch to Night Breaker.

then another 2 weeks, i'll switch to Diamond Vision.

after my "plug and snap" session early this morning,

Night Breaker indeed shines brighter and whiter than Silverstar...

you might wana get Night Breaker and try out for yourself...

Do return and give your comments. :)

Btw i am using Philips Vision plus, much brighter than Diamond Vision i would say.

However i am actually thinking whether it's worth the extra premium to upgrade to Philips Xtreme Power or Osram Night Breaker.

Xtreme Power is pretty expensive, how much is the Night Breaker?

Slow down abit, smell the air and enjoy the scenery.

Caught the touring bug once again!
