I was away on course for about a week. Didn't ride my bike. Bike was left for about about 5 days. Discovered bike was tampered. Key can't switch on the ignition bacause of that. So I cut the ignition wire and short it together and tape both wire together. So, switching off my bike is simply engaging to gear 1 and slowly letting go the clutch. Starting the bike is simply by engaging neutral gear and kick start the bike. The problem is, it seems hard for me to start the bike. Need alot of kick start to start the bike. Ride half-way engine die at traffic light. Not once, but twice. And the first time it died, took me sometime to start the engine back. What could possibly be the problem? Is it me shorting the two wire? Or due to engine too cold, which before this doesn't die half-way. Or maybe my battery weak? Im using wet battery and according to previous owner considerably just change the battery. Also I tried to horn, but its like so soft and sometimes no sound at all. Is it all due to me shorting the wire? Anyway Im riding sp. Need advice asap. :sian:

firstly... bring to bike shop for connection the wire back to the ignition or change the whole ignition thingy...

2nd.. have to check battery or charge your battery as you stated horn is like soft and sometimes no sound at all... Have to charge it really full...

3rd.. you mentioned you left it for 5 days, didn't you take out the battery connectors? & upon starting it successful... You have to warm up your bike at least 15 min(My prefer timing for didn't start my bike for than 2 days) Depends on each of us... Min of 5 min is required for the battery to charge back ma..

lastly, please bring the bike to bike shop for making your bike normal again... else ANYONE can ride your bike away w/o your knowlege....

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

sniper,

take heed of adesmond2's advice. The longer you procrastinate to repair the bike, the worse the bike becomes, especially the wire harness. Also, every minute, the risk of the bike getting stolen increases.

I think one of the problem is that since you short the battery to start the bike, the alternator would not be able to charge the battery as you did not turn on the ignition switch.

Therefore the battery become weaker and weaker as it is not being recharged.

To rectify this you must turn on the ignition switch, ie change it or repair it.
