I think you are mislead by the fig shown in the odometer/tripmeter. The figure shown is in miles, not km. For new YP400, consumption should be around 21-23km/l. after 10,000km it should stabilise around 23-24km/l.

itizz really i not sure cos the owner's maual never specify MPH or KPH

Thanks for the info bro if really miles then is justify liao

Not to be bias, Swing & Maj 400 Euro are Close linked.

E.g. Our tire size is the same.

My last purchase of the front tire reveals Everfit is selling Bridgestone much more expensive than Chong Aik's Dunlop. About $30 cheaper

So guyz, pls check price prior to changing.

Cheers!

Hi yp250s,

welcome to the house of scooter.

lacking power and the FC is high are common as bike getting old day by day mah!

There are many reasons, example: roller, clutch wore off, carbritor dirty...etc.

Do join us for scooter outing some time, and appreciate your scooter, cheers.

With every good wishes

sorry, lots of questions. I just took over this scooter from my dad and he can't remember when he last serviced. My scooter really feels very sluggish & high FC.

any recommendation for reliable & good service centre around the west to have my majesty serviced?! thanks!

oh ya ... the ERP metal bracket also broke but i can't seems to find similar bracket anywhere i know. need help to recommends some service shops that can do that as well.

lastly, looking for good jacket for protection against the sun. I'm using a wind breaker now (that's all i have ler) but it seems like I'm still feeling the "sun heat" sipping thru leh.

any good recommendation huh?

thanks!!!

Can try Future Scootering, but it's at Kallang. Dunno of any shops specialising in scooters in the west.

Hi Fellas,

I just found your forum, and thought I would introduce myself!

My name is Steve, and I am a 2005 Majesty 400 rider from Canada. Hi All

:cheer: :bounce: :cheer: :bounce: :cheer:

I have been reading through all the threads, and was wondering about the IRC tyres. Someone mentioned to be careful on them, any particular reason?

I had thought about a set of Michelin Pilot Sports for the Majesty, but thought I would do it at the end of the summer, after putting a few more km on the IRC. Only have 1000KM on the bike so far.

So, HI from Canada! And any input on tyres would be great!

hi there. nice to have a foreigner in this forum. have a nice time in here. but be mindful. the climate over at your place is totally different from ours. there are tyres of different compound and grooves . so wat we use here might not suit u. and wat tyre do u normally see people in your country use??? i would recommend Michelin Gold Standard. Its a touring tyre. good for wet roads & exceptionally good on dry roads. see the cutting grooves to believe.

From my previous experience (Not on a Majesty 400 though), the IRC tyres perform adequately in the dry, but in the wet they offer very poor grip....

They are still okay if you take it slowly, but if you have to do some emergency braking due to other road users one fine day, it can be relatively more dangerous compared to if you are on better tyres.

My personal opinion on IRC tyres, for me I'll rather not take the chance. I had ever encountered the rear wheel 'fish-tailing' in the wet on IRCs even though I was braking normally and progressively... It wasn't a very nice experience!

Totally agree with you. Have changed to dunlop tyre after my near fatal accident with a lorry as the tyre did not offer the adequate ressistance when I applied emergency brake on a dry road condition at 60km/h.:giddy:

Hi guys,

Glad to report the sudden engine stall *spelling* has been very few and far in between for my 9 months old Majesty 400. I suppose adr77 is right that eventually it will go away as it run in.

I have learn from Hong Leong that there is an interesting feature on Majesty 400 - I went down to Hong Leong the other day to ask why the oil change light fails to light up for I have been riding for 6000miles already. Guess what, the malay mechanic says the Majesty 400 has a sensor in the engine that will only shows the oil change light WHEN THE ENGINE OIL IS DIRTY. Wow.

My previous cars didn't even have this feature.

Care to comment guys?

How oil warning lights works.

With current technology, there's only 2 type.

The simpler one is just a mileage monitor system. Upon reaching certain mileage. it will light up. So once reach, it will light up. then u have to reset the idicator. This is the easiest and simplest to implement in any vehicles. Just a simple "timer".

The next type is oil pressure sensor. When oil level get low, the oil pressure drop.

The oil presssure sensor will detect low pressure and the oil warning will light up.

Or if the oil is dirty, oil filter/strainer is clog up, it will also give a low oil pressure reading.

Some design will have a overpressure sensing too. but not that common. When u add to much oil, the pressure will be higher than default. So oil pressure sensor will detect this and light up the warning light. But not a common feature because, Most engine will have over pressure bypass valve in the crank. so the eccess perssure and oil will usually vent to the air box area.
