Hi to all... more power coming your way.

Today, i went to auto machinary to buy spare part again. Guess what, i bought swingarm busing set and new thermostat. then i went back to my mscp to install. Wah leow.... very tired man. But at least i know my majesty is in good shape now.

Change oil and flush out old coolant. Old coolant was very dirty, lucky cck point out to me the other day. Change to 10/40 synthetic oil - very smooth...

The old swing arm bushing feels got freeplay when i took it out. Pls remember to but grease into the bush and seal it with the O-ring at both end and install the c-clips. After install, swingarm no more click-clock.

On power is smooth again after i change the belt the other day.

But, ask you all hor : Do you feel the vibration when you travel at let's say, 50km/h, then release throttle? i can feel like the belt is vibrating. Is it like that one?

Tell you all another long account...

Last friday 8Jun07, as i travel to work at 8am along the TPE toward changi direction, bike start to choke-choke pop-pop-pop....

I manage to stop beside the punggol service lane just before the perdestrian overhead bridge... Idling like want to die like that, When rev, like misfire like that....

I check if got petrol or not. Pull out fuel tube, ok leh.

Then i see got petrol leak out from the caburator overflow tube...

Believe it or not, i remove the tank and access the cab and take it out to check the float and stopper to see if theres any dirt. I even suck the inlet and sense for any leak. but seems clean leh...

I check the ignition system by taking out the spark plug and unwind the connector. I put the cable end near the engine and start the engine. I can see spark jumping across. So i think it's ok leh.

Anyway i put everthing back and try again. Engine trouble still remains.

When rev the speed is eractic .. Then the battery went flat leow.

I push the majesty back up the filter lane to the HDB carpark nearby looking for someone the jump start.

Manage to find a altis guy to help me. we connect the cable and start my engine. Ok, i let it idle for a minute and rev the engine..... same problem...

So i almost give up, but my instint tells me to check the spark plug cable again. I remove the cable plug and check the little wire inside the insulator cable. GUESS WHAT? The wires can be pull off. It means theres no more conducting voltage. I cut the cable end short and reconnect the L-shape connector and plug ii into spark plug again. Lucky the battery has enough power the start again.

Engine started and return back to normal again. Yeahhh problem is solve at 10am. Until now engine still operating ok. It mean the culprit is the cable lor.

So next time you majesty goes pop-pop-put-put put, check the spark plug cable for any broken conductor. I guess the engine vibration for the last 9 years have flex and broke it inside.

Now temp and fuel meter is abit crazy. Rising and falling, seow seow like that... anyone know whats the problem?

That thing is a "vacum feed fuel pump" ...sounds strange but that's the description. Mk 2 onwards uses an electric pump: same model as Virago/Intruder and a few other bike model. In fact, with the space available in a maxi scooter, you can buy fuel pumps meant for cars: $40 vs $120 ...i know which i'll use.:)

You could have 2 problems; which you fixed the more obvious "plug cable resistance" symptom. The likely cause is a faulty Rectifier/Regulator. Your battery is not charging properly, the already weak voltage is not providing enough oomph to overcome the resistance of the ignition system. If not R/R, then I suggest you check all your grounding. A quick fix would be to run a ground from R/R surface (which is ground) to battery negative terminal (also ground). Let's see if the problem go away ...

hmmm, still don't undersatnd how the vaccum pump works. No need 12v power meh. How it works arh? CoVin pls explain leh...

Ah ya... tell you another thing last friday. I was travelling on yio chu kang towards thomson. At the CTE flyover, i was turning right to join CTE. Under the bridge junction is 2 lane turning right.

The arrow is on already as i can see 30m away. But aaa, there is a mod getz in the middle of 2 lane in front of me. Don't know what he's up to. Many car behind also blur already.... so i happy happy kept to the right lane and just when i approch the Getz, guess what happens.

He started to make a U TURN !!!!! His front bumper crash into my majesty left middle side where the side stand is. My main stand tore off his bumper and it fell off the car !!!. My majesty just shake and i didn't fell off. Thank God.

So i uturn with the car ... and see what he has to say. he says nothing and i ask "i boh sala hor" bye bye ... so i rode off and uturn back toward the CTE again.

Wah leow... next time i see a car from far don't know doing what, i better anticipate the sudden u-turn thing again and keep far away or go super slow .

take care all you majesty riders : )

Your experience proves the point that 2 wheelers must never take our own safety for granted. Never trust any other road user except yourself! Fix the loudest horn u can, whenever you are in someone's blind spot, use it to draw attention. When drivers shows you the finger; it proves they know where you are ..:) ..

In normal bikes, fuel feed is by gravity and the petcock normally 1) blocks the blow, 2) allows flow and 3) flows the lower tap for reserves. The vacum pump is common on most suzuki bikes and has 1) Primed, 2) Off and 3) reserve. You realised that on the Majesty, the petrol tank placed lower than the carb. This arrangement means it can't depend on gravity to flow into the carbs; it needs to be pumped into the carb. Using a vacum arrangement; fuel is drawn into the carb by means of the moving piston. I have not opened the unit before but i think its not servicable and i do not know why Mk 2 went on to electrical pump. I would suggest that you buy yourself about a half meter length of fuel hose from car parts dealers; there is a specific internal size which i can't recall, else it wont it be "tight" enough. Given the age of the machine, it is good to replace the fuel line. YOu can tell the difference - old is hard and stiff, new is supple and flexible. I think I paid about $6 for it - priceless for the peace of mind that the fuel line wouldnt just break on me due to old age :)
