Hi everyone,

 

Im riding FZ6 S2 2009. recently i have fitted 2 givi e21 with the SB9000 givi universal rack to hold the boxes. Before fitment of the box, i've manage to hit 270 - 275km with 14.8 (let's round up to 15 liter). Now, with the boxes, i only managed to hit 255km. Is this normal? the weight of the rack and boxes could affect the fuel consumption that much?! I am right wrist gentle rider.

let's take it that there is no change in your bike internally.. the weight and size and wind restriction does matters..

 

when u ride hiding behind ur windscreen and when u ride upright like a tree block, the speed and the rpm and the FC is different..

from 18km/l to 17km/l does not sound like a big difference. but putting boxes affect the aerodynamics of the bike and therefore affect the fc for sure.

fz1000 gen1? there are quite a few brands available.. u tried google-ing on what is available in the market? tell us what u like and we could probably tell u where to find..

 

Thanks bro. In fact I m looking for a windscreen the high type that is suitable for touring use. If u know where I can get it? Yes my is a gen 1. Thanks for ur help

my fc was about 18km/l when i was riding fz6.. now i dont even bother to calculate. i think 400cc to 600cc bikes dont have huge impact on your wallet. so if you didnt upgrade from 4stroke 200cc straight to 600cc the difference in fc is not alot. but if upgrade from phantom to fz6 then the fc difference will be very noticeable.

U can get Givi high screen for Fazer and add-on a retractable small screen on top (forget the brandname) from Motoworld.

if it doesn't fit on your 07, how do you figure that it's for 05 onwards? 05 and 06 models are different Gen's. 05 follows Gen1 and 06 is Gen2.
