What i would suggest is that you keep aside that 500 bucks and save up for your insurance as separate.

Bajaj Pulsar 180 - UG3 (2007 - )

Suzuki GSXR-400 (2008 - 2009)

Piaggio Vespa GT 200L (2009 - 2011)

Yamaha YBX 125 (2010 - )

Yamaha FZ S1 '05 (2011 - )

yup bro agree with the rest.

1st thing 1st,how long did y raise the $500?

Do the math on per day cost.eg ERP charges, season parking, parking coupons, petrol, maintainance etc.Multiply dat by 30 days.

We all noe ur excitement of getting ur own ride but tink smartly, try not to be impulsive.theres a lot of bikes in S'pore and they wont run out.So best is to save as much then get ur bike.

My orgasm starts at 299km/h.....

Personal ride -

1st ride - TRZ 125

2nd ride - GSXR-K

3rd ride - CBR400RN

3rd ride - Super 4(S)

4th ride - R1

5th ride - CBRXX1100:thumb:

Alternatively, since you are in army and if you have the patience, you can tahan the urge and save for a few more months and finally pay the bike in full. This is if the bike is not really that ex haha. I got my license and bike during ns and that was how I did it. Good luck~

It's better to save up more, then buy when you are in a much better financial position.

It's not a lot of $$$, but you have to put aside some more $$$ for 'what-if's situations.

Spares, servicing, instalments....etc

hey guys, just an update on my situation. Recently, my friend introduced me to a bike seller. He's selling me his Fn-plate Tzm 150, its pretty old but he's charging 2k for the machine price.(paying installment, zilch interest, he's very flexible on payment coz he drives, he just wana sell his bike) I've met up with the seller and he is very trustworthy. He insist that i go see the bike before i make up my mind on anything.

So here's the question.

1)How much do i ned to pay for insurance?(is there such thing as 1st or 3rd party)

2)Transfer fees? i'm 22 atm(23 this year), p-plater.

3)Where can i get it done? (insurance. transfer and subrider)

4)How much to add a sub-rider? (he's 19 this year btw)

Thank you all.

Please give comment and feel free to comment. Please be nice. ^_^

Bro if you can tahan, try to save up more, like for me I saved till I hit 3k then I decided to buy my SP, which cost me $1500 and after that you can use spare cash for maintenance etc etc.

And besides interest rate is a killer, and since I've paid the bike in full, i dun need to worry about monthly installments which might be a headache when ur low in cash sometimes...

If you plan to pay $180/month, have to thought of the fuel and maintenance sometimes? so make sure you plan properly before u buy it recklessly

1) insurance Im not really sure if it depends on age or on the age of license, since you're P-plater prolly will be much higher and yes there is such a thing as 3rd party which actually doesnt cover theft and fire (i cant realli remember)

2) Transfer fee i paid $40

3) You have to get insurance 1st before you do a transfer of ownership to your name, but since you said you're subrider, insurance i don't think you need to bother since the owner should settle it but if you want to transfer to your name then you'll need to buy insurance 1st then go down to LTA and transfer.

4)In the 1st place why do you want to be sub-rider? since he wans to sell his TZM to you might as well make you the actual owner.

just my own thoughts, TZM $2k for FN plate i think abit too costly. juZ my own opinion. = )
