Hi guys, whenever I throttle to about 5k rpm, i get a choking sound... feels as if the bike is taking in air. Slight vibrations too. This happens for almost every gear, being most prominent at gear 2. The only way to avoid this seems to be to full throttle everytime to chiong past the 5k rpm mark.

Can anyone pls advise on what's wrong?

i asked the shop they said its the valve never open at 5k rpm it only open at 6k-7k rpm and they said riding a sport bikes should not be smooth. As the valve open at 6k-7k when moving off you must drag gears.

hmm.. i jus got my bike 3 months back .. is it time for servicing? hahahs!

:cheeky:

What kind of 2T did you use? low grade 2T would cause excess of 2T trap in the pipe. Therefore it became carbon. Another thing is also the bike has been laid for a long time. Without starting or warming up the engine, carbon will start to form up.

It might also lead to dirty carburetors, usage of air filter and open port will eventually dirty the carburetor faster than usage of air box.

You sound like riding a S4 Vtec sia. Haha. But that's true. Some SP have this problem whereby vavle cannot open due to the dirt in it. So that's why it's recommend to do a full servicing once every 6 mths.

ehh..

i used to have this prob..

even after decarbonizing @ planet..

ah chong helped me tuned the first time.. but didnt succeeded..

in the end.. still loss of power more than ever.. n petrol fc dropped from 200km to 150km per full tank..

den engine died next few days later.. towed to planet...

checked.. tuned.. still ard the same..

den i brought back to my old mech ah meng @ sungei kadut..

he see liaoz.. reved... den open my airbox.. drilled afew holes . den tuned..

den the bike became more powerful den ever.. lol ( its an sp btw...)

n my fc improved to 230-250km nowadays even though the power is there n i also open throttle.. i change my gear at 5+-6k rpm... n normally cruise at 100km on meter.. ( which is 6k+rpm on the speedo)

Suck it n ride!

(Extracted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_NSR500 )

The Honda NSR500 is a race motorcycle from the Honda NSR series. It was created by HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) and debuted in 1984 for the Grand Prix motorcycle racing's 500 cc class. Honda won ten 500cc World Championships with the NSR500 from 1984 to present, six in a row 1994 to 1999. With more than 100 wins to its credit, the NSR500 is the most dominant force in modern Grand Prix motorcycle racing. The 1989 NSR500 that won Honda's third 500 World Championship with Eddie Lawson exemplifies the overwhelming power, acceleration and raw speed that has always been synonymous with Honda's 500 cc two-stroke V4.

the wife also will get rusty..

haahaa..

jk.. but the logic is there.. try to try valve till 7 - 8k rpm often lo...

coz its only 100+km- 115km+- ... n the meter u need to minus ard 15-20km to get the exact spd..

Suck it n ride!
