Win you got prize arh? you cant even afford what I can.

Its not fair to you I know.

But seriously, I win, then what, you will promise not to type anymore nonsense but will check with your friends father first before you crap in here?

Your further comments about myself, shows the limit which your brain has in matters of this nature, regards to this thread.

Its very obvious, you arent looking to help your friend. Maybe just to impress your friend with the information gathered here to show your friend how 'helpful' you are.

I've already won. You are just another egoistic kid here who just tot he won the world.

LOL! i will say if i wan to do that, why mus i reply to a person

that is wasting of time? making my thread become an arguement thread?

why not using my time to look out in the forum instate of coming

here arguing with someone!

Perfect is what we are now.

it is wasting of time, but until you grow up enough to learn what you should or should not be yapping about, you are wasting everyone's time by starting a topic which you arent able to read and understand.

hey, cool it guys!

jackson, its simple, his IO will definitely tell him what the charges will be like. There's no need for you to check it here. Most of the time, the charges will very much depend on the judge. if you really wanna know, go to his trial and you'll find out for yourself.

thank you.

Now will you stop whining or barking and tell your friend father what could be done and expected, plus standby the amount of fines required to pay off his son's offence.

And you can always honour your comment to shut up soon.

hello jackson, at this point your friend should start thinking about the mitigating factors. and also what's important is appear humble and remorseful before the judge.

hey guys out there, i have a few question to ask

regarding laws, abt driving without a car licence.

pls help if u or your friends tio/kenna before.

My friend drive his dad car out but without a licence. and he was

caught by police in a road block.

1st question- what r the max and min fineS and jail terms?

as this is very mess up. if he say his dad lent him the car

his dad will have his licence revoked fine & if he says

that he steal the car he will have another charge and jail term?

so what u guys thinks? and which 1 should he go for 1st-his dad lent him? 2nd-he steal it?

which charge will be lighter?(main point) thx for the help guys!

To answer both of your question

ref http://www.spf.gov.sg/faqs/traffic_avt.htm

Those who drive without an appropriate licence may face charges of driving without a valid licence, which carries a fine of up to $1,000 or a jail term up to 3 months for the first conviction. The offender may also be charged for driving without a valid insurance coverage, the penalty of which may be a fine of up to $1,000 or a jail term not exceeding 3 months, or both. The offender will also be disqualified from driving for at least a year.

next just tell the truth. to the IO

IMHO the guy should be castrated :dot:

FYI 1, Auntie here is no guy.

FYI 2, Auntie here did tell jackson to know from his friend the penalties after the trial.

FYI 3, jackson maybe should try yapping to his friend's father instead of to people that hate such kids that drove the family car without licence because whoever that someone with loves the thrill.

Hey Jackson, I think your friend deserves to be fined and suspended for a year. He need to pay for his misdeeds. And he'd be a real @#$% to sacrifice his dad in order to get away with the crimes he committed. Regardless whether his dad agreed or not. If he can do this to his dad, he will do the same to anybody else including you.

And kudos to the police at the road block for arresting the time bomb. Think it over, if you were riding on the road and your friend kills you unintentionally when he lost control of the car. It will not be worth it. Recall the 16 year old who killed himself when he stole his brother's car for a spin? Don't help him or you will bring harm to him and the people around in future. Let him learn his lesson and grow out of it.

Jackson, cool it, you know that if you start a thread like that you would be starting a flame war, don't believe me, start an exact same one on one of the local car forums. The reaction will be a whole lot more chaotic.

Most of the senior forummers here don't take lightly to illegal stuff, especially driving without a license. Too many killed and maimed already.

VK, think the conversation is getting nowhere here. maybe we should just leave jackson alone to look through all the replies that was given. shall we?

jackson, answers to your questions are all out in the thread, be it from the jurisdicational term, or from the personal terms of the people here. let's just stop all these arguements and let it go.

Hi Jackson, I think it is worthwhile for you to know the consequences of breaking the law. Never ever get behind the wheel if you are not qualified as there will be no insurance coverage. Imagine the catastrophic consequences from the aftermath of a crash. How much liabilities the offender need to deal with if he is alive. And if he is dead, who is going to take up the acocuntability of the aftermath? A licenced driver has insurance to repay the other party if need be. Getting into an accident is troublesome enough. Getting involved in an accident with an unlicenced driver is even more headache.

Imagine how is the offender going to be accoutable to the other party he collided with. To put it bluntly, how would you feel if you were hit by an unlicenced driver who has no insurance coverage. And obviously have no means of repaying your damages. Claim your own interests and forgo all NCD even if you have already hit 50%? If he is so interested in driving, he should get his licence first and never attempt to drive without it.

Skills wise, having a licence may not mean that you will be very skillful. But not having the licence will definately mean that the driver is absolutely not skillful enough. In the first place if you have a licence, you should know by now what are the basic courses you go through.

Of course, those with licence who drive beyond their limit & crash is an entirely different issue.

I think you need to differenciate the several issues being lumped together here.

Yea sure! but i mean the purpose of me starting the thread is a

simple question to all of u. i am jus asking for a help and

yet some ppl tent to find argument give a type of comment's.

what's the point? Is it really so hard to give a advise or

maybe saying what r the charge? if it is real,

i think i may give up posting for help in the forum. yup!

People are out in full force to support you. :)

I hope the judge will not be lenient to people who drive under influence of alcohol/drugs, under suspension/ban, and without valid licence/insurance. These people who are willing to take such risks should be prepared to bear full weight of the law when they are caught.

Do also include driving a OPC without a valid coupon.

Glad you realise that.

For such serious matters, never ask for help in this forum. All advice dispensed here are without prejudice.

However, if you ask a qualified lawyer, you may still get the same advice at $300/hr, and the big 4 will cost you even more.

Jackson, let me conclude what I think we all think.

1. As you have seen, we have tried advising you. I think thats all that we can advise.

2. We all hope that those people who drive without a valid license get a heavy sentence - not only your friend.

Some law firms provide free initial consultation until retained. One example is HEP, look for Sashi Nathan.
