but we're more concerned abt the ROAD SAFETY n other road user !!!

 

anyway what u wanna play ??

if u really wanna play, head down to the track

with the proper gears and play as much as u like.

there will be lots of pple willing to "PLAY"

with you.

 

but if u're still unsatisfied or feel that

i'm talking c*** n die die must play on sg roads, u can

always "TRY" with MR WW . i think he will be

hey i have guys been away for some time just got back last week. and for those who can remember me my bike has finally been done up by K&T. Had to wait about 3 weeks plus though cus Clifford was very busy. I had just bought the bike from "good old" albert motors in January with a million problems. Lots of you suggested I bring it down to K&T and that's exactly what I did. Clifford took my junk of a bike, serviced it over the weeks and now it runs like a dream. K&T rocks man.....Hats off to Clifford whom gave me alot of good advice too....

 

Things changed:

magneto coil, magneto coil gasket, clutch plates and gasket, metal plates (in between clutch plates), cam cover gasket cam cover oil seals shims (valve clearance), carburator insulators, water pump, water pump Top o-rings, throttle cable, foirkoil seals and dust cover, fork servicing, fork collars, oil filter, radiator cap, tyres (sportec m3), maxima engine oil, rear caliper o-rings, service rear calipers, servicing and tuning of carburator, coolant and flshing, rear master pump kit, front fork tyre bearings.....

 

Things waiting to do:

Full wiring harness abt $350 (no stock), racing footrests(impossible to find reasonable priced ones motorworld at $570 !!! way too ex...waiting for hkl POP footrests to come in)

Guys, since getting back my bike I have a few problems still bugging me. Maybe u guys can help. My bike tends to heat up vey fast. For example a trip from Woodlands to Ngee Ann Poly. When I park my bike I can hear a gurgling/bubbling sound from the engine, the temperature is more than 3/4 way to hit max temp and the bike feels super hot. On one occassion even coolant leaked all over the place, when i brought my bike back down gain to check there seemed to be no where the coolant could be leaking from no holes in any of the pipe lines and the reserve coolant tank is also not leaking. My water pump has been changed, coolant flushed, air filter is practically new, the fan is working too. In traffic jams the temperature is very close to hitting max. Any ideas why it is heating up so much, is this normal for RVFs ???

You can call clifford help you remove the termostat. Or modify the fan to switch when your temp is nearly 1/4.

Another 2 questions to bug you guys and its about funny sounds...

 

1) There is a funny sound like a knocking/tapping sound (tak-tak-tak) kinda funnny sound coming from the front of the bike when I start moving off in the morning. After a while of riding this sound goes away. Comes back at low speed in first gear. Can't be the clutch plates or housing cus I just changed the entire clutch assembly. Front fork tyre bearings have also been changed. Fork servicing done and fork couplings changed. What else could it be??? The sound seems to be coming near the behind the meter, weird man. Could it be the cone bearings or anything else ??

 

2) Another sound comes when I start up the bike and let the engine run on idle. Besides the normal engine rev sounds there is an additional like tapping sound (tap-tap-tap). Can hear the sound quite clearly. But what is causing the sound? Could it be hole in the exhaust manifold or could it be that the exhaust O-ring or gasket is worn out. A friend of mine told me it might be the "tepped" near the carb there worn out. What in the worlds is a "tepped" i don't even know how to spell it properly...

If u have a voltmeterinstalled see if the voltmeter is pushing against your windshield or knocking against other things. if not u see if your brake cable is grinding against your mudguard or maybe u lift a little bit of your tank see the left and right side of your main frame is there a small dent if there id put a piece of rubber modify to work like a tank rubber (if u dun have lah!)

This 1 i cannot answer coz muz hear and try to see where the sound coming from (ps. come out this fridat night , hehe! )

Bro, thanks for the advice, will be going down to k&t soon, but now busy with work. Correct me if I'm wrong but if I remove the thermostat then I will not be able to know how hot the engine is getting right ??? and for our rvfs isn't the fan on all the time ?? if it is then modifying it to just switch on when it is at 1/4 temp won't make any difference right. I have seen rvfs with a fan switch.... whats that for... why is there a need to switch on and off the fan if it is on all the time ?

that fan switch is for u to switch on when the temp is abt reaching half. so it will mainten the temp there or slow down the temp from going up. you switch it of at night time to save Batt anyway your bike will not get that hot at night time due to e cold wind at night.

 

why you go JB by 1st link dan you will understand the imorptance of the fan switch.

 

for my bike if without the switch the fan will still cut in but its at abt almost going to max dan the fan cut in so its abit too late by dan my balls had areadly cook haha.. so i install a switch for it.

 

come out on this fri la so we can had a look at your bike and try to find out the sound u say...

u can big bore ma.. maybe can reach 299km/hr lei.. since rvf 4th gear can clear meter.. bike nowadays are fast man..
