Well.... This experiment is actually to find out whether air is effectively flowing from the sai tao thru the ducts and down through the Fuel tank's plastic cavity at speeds. Abit of reverse engineering if you will.

 

Wana find out once and for all for ourselves and be able to say; " HEY! RVF's AIR DUCTS are really useless! Even if buang, we can save the $60 each of replacing them!"

 

So now that we have your Sai Tao, Eugene's air ducts...we are still short of the the single most impt item.....the tank itself!

 

Of course we dun mind another helper. More the merrier. Pics of the experiment will be taken and hopefully documented here. Methods to this experiment is open to discussions as well.

i riding without the air ducts since last night....no difference

 

by the way guys, i dun understand why u need a tank and head as well for testing....r u gonna use fan and gauges

The air ducts are for show only and have no affect at all on the tuning of

the bike.

Sure..and if they tell you people your bikes can fly if you guys take out the end can, you guys would believe?

 

People tell you something and you believe without any conscious effort in ensuring its truth, what convictions are behind your statements?

 

Seriously, Tyga guys may be great in thier aftermarket products but they did not have a hand in the design and conceptualization of the RVFs. How can they know for sure? Only the bike designers can tell us. Not you, not me, not the tyga guys.

 

sometimes, what you hear may not necessarily be true. So why not find out for ourselves thru this little experiment?

 

Even if you or anyone who has taken out thier air-ducts and felt no difference in performance, it does not necessarily mean the airducts are "for show only".

need urgent help...

 

my bike batt been goin low for the last one wk...

 

had my dad cab to charge my batt twice in a wk already....

 

firstly there is totally no cranking of my starter....

 

den when my dad jump start my bike for me i hear TA TA TA TA sound from my rectiflier....

 

wat is wrong wif my bike?

 

rectiflier or batt up the lorry?

 

or is it the magnetic coil?

 

how do i know when my coil is up the lorry?

Yo Lao Yang...

 

Mai Huang Zhang. Lez take this step by step.

 

When you say your bikes Batt went low for the past week, how did you know? Did you use a mutimeter to measure? how are the lights? Dim? None?

One note on Batteries, when they are nearing the end of their chemically-dictated life, no amount of charging or jump starting is going to rejuvenate it, so dun have the wrong impression. The best solution is to replace it asap if its really flat.

 

2ndly, electrical rectifiers do not make noises la. Unless its crackling and melting under high heat generated from current oversurges. :lol:

Remove the tail fairing, do a visual check on the rectifier for burnt marks.

 

I suspect the "TA TA TA" sound u hear did not come from the rectifier. Its actually the starter relay contacts latching when u push the start button. Its located near the battery compartment. very normal. And very loud when you remove the seat.

 

There is a way to rule out the magnetic coil.

Use a multimeter, set to OHMS.

Disconnect your Rectifier connector. identify the pins that each have a yellow wire attached to it. There are 3 yellow wires. Measure 2 of this at a time using the multimeter probes. the readings u get should be around 1 ohm, between any 2 of the yellow wires. make sure u go thru all 3.

U are actually measuring the 3 windings of the magnetic coil outputs this way.

 

Next, if all turns out well, suspect the carbon starter.

When it doesnt start again.... clutch in, kick bike to 2nd gear,let clutch out, roll bike backwards. Clutch in, press starter button again to start. If it starts this way, your carbon brush is worn and should be replaced.

anyway tink my rectflier belong to S4 de...

 

so will it cos any problem or not ah?

 

my batt i juz change half a yr ago oni lei...
