Its a possibility, but usually if carb, there will be lots of black smoke coming out of the exhaust. But do check the Plug.

One way to check is by feeling how the air from the exhaust is exited from by placing your hand about 2-3 feet away. See if the air coming out is consistent, meaning always at the same place. If not, usuallly means that one of your plugs is not working.

My plugs were changed by a reputated motor diam. If beleived they had done a proper job. Anyway, I will check again. But worried of cross threading my engine block as I had just read someone had done it. If I splinker some water to the exhaust, am I able to check whether the plugs are woking or not ? If all plugs are working, so how?

I'd just check my plugs & realised that one plug cap was not totally inserted. Hope this should be the fault. The mechanic was very careless.

This was exactly what happened to me....even tho u changed in a reputable workshop...it may not be the mechanics fault....

My case was the spark plug cap jumped out becos the contact is not good anymore. Changed the cap for about 30+..Now all so good.

What is the idling krpm before and after warm up?

How is your riding style, bike tyre pressure for front and back, weight of total load?

You were saying your bike 260km for full tank means you topped up 18l of petrol and it lasted you till tank empty or into reserve?

Is there any modification to the bike?

Posted

Idling krpm before is 1 after is 1.2 - 1.3.

riding style normal.. wun drag and normally change gear ard 5kprm

tyre pressure is f - 31, b - 38 weight of total - dunno

260km 18l of petrol is to reserve with

no mod. stock bike.

Firstly, I suspect your bike is out of tune even though you said that it was tuned recently... And also the bike tends to stall even when idling is 1krpm.

Secondly, your bike idling is ok but changing it to 1krpm to 1.1krpm should save you on some FC especially during traffic built-ups.

Thirdly, get the recommended tyre pressure which is front 36 PSI and rear 42 PSI. This is the recommended tyre pressure if you pillion quite a lot. (Applys when you are using the recommended tyre front 120/60/ZR17 & rear 160/60/ZR17)

Forthly, try to change gears in the range of 4krpm-4.5krpm at most. Should have sufficient power output and saves you on some FC.

And also Ride within the range of 100km/h on expressway. You should be able to hit the range of 280-300km with a full tank of 18l petrol upon hitting reserve.

260/18=14.4km/l

wad a fc. i think is ur carb. check ur air filter as well. i recommend planet or k&t. i also change gear at 5k rpm. ard 34xkm hit reserve. fc is 23km/l.

in sg, sound fast look fast is enough. run fast fine fast die fast.

Maybe you should wash your bike's carb also. Never hear you mention abt washing carb. Dismantle the carb for a wash and check for any prevous mod...

Ask your mechanic to check on jets, you'll never know if it could be totally stock...

Do keep us update on your bike's FC. Should get lower FC if you follow my suggestions.

hey guys , wonder if u can answer this ...

i was riding at around 80 at CTE this morning pillioning my colleague. suddenly there was a loud pop , it happened so fast and i think it came from the front of my bike. then i just rode on, suddenly few seconds later, a pop burst again! this time not as loud as the previous one.

i parked my bike, checked my tires, nothing wrong. i park at my workplace, checked 3 hours later, nothing wrong wit it either. i have rode home the bike, everything was normal except that i dont feel as shiok as before. still wondering wats wrong wit mah bike? allergic to CTE?

Hi fellow S4 riders

I am still running in my S4 and it is nearing 1000Km but recently I find that the gear is a bit hard to engage (i.e I kick up but I don't feel the gear engaging especially the third gear and I tried one more time and when I down gears, it is already at fourth gear).

Something wrong or due for engine oil change and can I change it before 1000km as I am now at 980KM.

Hi, just wanna check on the hazard light.

When I on the hazard light and then I off the engine, the light goes off, is it suppose to be like that ?

My previous X9 hazard light when engine is off is still on.
