Hi guys,

Please help.

When i close my trottle and let it run by itself especially on lower gear, there is a very clear and loud flip sound.

It is just like when u put a paper into the fan.

At first i thought something might had stuck under my chain but there is nothing in it.

Then i try to listen where the sound is from, look like is from the engine under where i sit.

Anyone had similar problem?

I only encounted this problem 2 weeks after changing my engine oil, air filter, spark plug and brake pad from unqiue motors.

Please advise.

Many thanks

Han

When u wanna start ur bike, you have to wait for ur 'red' light to disappear then u press ur starter.

the red light wouldnt disappear till the engine is running. it is an indicator for engine oil. ur cut off switch is at off mode?

in sg, sound fast look fast is enough. run fast fine fast die fast.

Hi guys.. i need some help..

All this while, my Ver s hasnt given me much issues. Very easy to start, press once enough.

This afternoon, i cldnt start the bike.. after multiple cranking, it just refused to come to life.

And then, to my horror, suddenly BOOM!! with loud loud echo (kinda like those rifle shots during NDP!). I was speechless! Then i press the E-start again, it worked as per normal.

So can anyone tell me. What happened?!! And should i have anything to worry about?

The initial failure to start must have flooded your combustion chambers and exhaust headers with fuel. The subsequent boom is when all the unburnt fuel/air ignites, but your bike really should be fine.

However, the source of the initial problem is probably poor spark. You may have fouled plugs, when's the last time you changed your plugs? You may need new ones.

Another possible fix is to run some cleaners into your fuel system. I distribute this product FP60 which has been very effective at cleaning up and restoring fuel system and combustion with some mileage. This may be all you need to get it refreshed again, versus a complete carb wash and plug change which will run into 100++. I have seen it bring new lease of life, efficiency and power to high mileage engines, the older the engine the better the benefits.

I see. Thanks for the clear explanation. Have had my carbs washed and tune just a few mths back.

Will go for the plug change during next servicing. And include the fp60 too during next petrol top up. :p :P

What are the ways i could raise the height of my Ver S? Each time, if im not careful, sure to hear scraping sound of the headers when going over hump.. My fork has been raised all the way to the top liao...

I don't see any other s4 having the same problems as mine. My friends said that they do not face this problem at all.

Anyone can help? it'd be much appreciated...
