:weep: Sigh.... Problem again for my Ver S... Brudders please enlighten me with some knowledge from ur valuable experience...

I just changed engine oil(semi-syn), spark plugs, oil filter, air filter abt a month ago. I even changed a set of new DID chain and a pair of new spockets and new rear brake pad. However after 2 weeks, I experienced that my bike got difficulty in accelerating. Speeding aside, but normal speed range during individual gear oso got difficulty in accelerating. Its like, when u open the throttle, u dun feel acceleration at all. And when u open the throttle more, it accelerate but not smooth. And on expressway, my bike when reached 80-90 km/h the engine sound like struggling very hard. Kaoz... really make me lose morale in riding it leh. A class 2A bike performing like a 2B.

I usually ride during peak hours to work, and with this kind of problems really give me headache when esp. on busy roads when u need to overtake slow vehicles.

Anyone knows wat the problem is?? I suspect is carb problem, need to wash and re-tune but dunno if this is the main cause. So please brudders out there, those who know wat is the cause pls help me.. Thanks a million! (sob... S4 wun so easily piston jam bah... )

Hi ... new here

Been riding S4Vtec for pass 2 years 6 mths and had experience some of the problems stated in the forum.

Problem 1 - Engine Dies when I clutch in during corning to change to lower gear or when about to stop. Went to Maxspeed to service, he open the air valve more and ok but after 1 to 2 mths, problem come back again.

Problem 2 - Petrol Consumption seems to be high 19.5 to 19.6km/litres.

I suspect is my spark plug. BTW, anyone can tell me what is a carb? I am blur down here. Please Englighten me.

Anyone went to Maxspeed before? I found them ok, only Thunder Mah is experience but not really the mechanic. I need a better and more reliable one leh. That shop usually service ST1100 and Goldwings.

I face it 2 time on my zxr last time, don't know is it the same or not.

First time- mech change the timing belt and tension ok already , last for 2 years.

Second time - serious case, the sound is coming from mine upper engine, change the clamp shaft n 8 pcs of small metals(i forgot the name). Symptom for these is lose of acceleration n increase in rpm to reach the same speed.

Reson is I never to valve clearance and change of shim for 4-5yrs. ( I don't know mah at that time.)

Abt $500-$600(estimate onli).... i also tinking to change one... But i heard even u change the exhaust to Yoshimura does not really increase ur acceleration... Due to ur filter in the exhaust... Must removed it...(but tis will cause ur exhaust sound louder).....

not power enuff? i suggest changing sprockets ratio. cheapest way to gain more power.

dear smokin ,

so what is the price that u suggest ?

if i go bike shop and ask , i scare kena "ut head "

anyway one more question , anyone ride at curising speed of 150 km/h

and the bike wobbles very great , what is the problem and is it becaue of low pressure of my tire . anyway my tire is also ordinary one ,cheap cheap $130 bought from southern motor at bukit merah .

do i have spent a good tire to speed up to 140 km/h plus plus ??

dear hondavtec666,

i cannot suggest any prices, for an idea of what are the market prices of components , servicing and all, try this thread http://www.singaporebikes.com/forum/index....showtopic=24845

for the size of sprockets, u got to ask the mech for recomendations. if he not sure, stick to stock size, it's good enuff. hint: smaller size=more top end, bigger size=more pick up. no such thing as u want pick up and top end together for a vtec. if u insist on both, get a blackbird. :p

under what circumstances u cruise at such hi speed??

bike wobbling can be from a few factors, not only tires alone. can be yr steering cone, wheel bearings, something out of alignment, got box or no box also have difference.

use correct tyre pressure recomended by the manufacturer. low pressure good grip but more rolling resistance resulting in more fuel consumption. higher pressure=less grip, less rolling resistance and it means better fuel economy.

for tyre, i suggest u look for the best u can afford, dunlops, bridgestones are good. do a search in this forum, a lot have been discussed. don't compromise and save on tyres, they are the ones to save you. they keep you from the tarmac as well.

Wat can be the cause of excessive vibration form the throttle area when the bike goes near to 5000 rpm?? I felt strong vibrations on my throttle when i travel on expressways when u need to travel at speed 80-100km/h. Somehow the vibrations also caused difficultly to accelerate beyond 90km/h.

vibrations can be due to a lot of factors causing it. steering cones, wheel bearings, box oor no box, something out of alignment etc. get a mech to check is the best.

and if u are talking about sluggish power, maybe its time for a carb wash and tune. or maybe exhaust choked. or maybe plug problem.

Hi all

My front brakes has even braking when I squeeze the brake lever with medium pressure. Is it due to brake pad wear or due to the rake disc warp?

Another problem is my fuel consumption is 20km per litre. Seems very high, although I usually travel at 100km/h on the expressway. Anyone has the same consumption?

Pls advise. Thanks.

Thank pro... But i have juz wash/tune carb , change new plugs a mth ago. Everything the vibrations start to occur i notice the speed will juz stay constant at 80-90 but the engine noise is quite loud. After travelling for some distance the bike is hotter than any other day before this problem started.

bro, when was the last time u change ur batt and rectifier??

my dad pb1 got tis prob and nw its ok.

went 2 change rectifier and batt.

another prob is the hole loacted at the tank for air suction, if it is blocked like my dad's pb1, reach 100kmph hard to accelerate .

hotter??=radiator choked????

The choking could be caused by the spongy just below the fuel tank leading to yr four carbs. it rectangle in shape with 4 triangles joining together... another reason could be condensation inside fuel tank in morning....

does yr bike always happens when yr fuel is running low....

sparkplug n retune wont help...
